Skyhawk Trapmate Mini Layout Summary: Front of Unit LED Indicator Cover Screws Front Button LED Indicator - This multicolored LED indicator will indicate when the Skyhawk Trapmate Mini is booting, has a low battery or is transmitting an alert. More details on the indicators colors can be found on page 14. Front Button - This multi-use button can be used for various functions. See pages 8 and 9 for more details.
Front of Unit (with cover removed) LED PC Card/Battery Holder Mounting Pins Battery Holder - The battery holder accommodates 2 x AA Batteries. It is suggested that 1.5 volt lithium batteries are used for extended life.
Skyhawk Trapmate Mini Installation: The Skyhawk Trapmate Mini can be installed using three main methods that include using the supplied 3M duallock strips, using the self-stick magnets to attach to a magnetic surface, or by using rubber feet. Method 1 : 3M Dual-Lock Strips Step 1: In the accessory kit locate the two sets of 3M dual-lock strips. Keep these strips together and do not separate them at this time! Step 2: Clean the rear surface of the Skyhawk Trapmate Mini for proper bonding of the strips.
Skyhawk Trapmate Mini Installation: Method 2 : Self-Stick Mounting Magnets Step 1: In the accessory kit locate the four self-stick mounting magnets. Step 2: Clean the four recessed areas on the back of the Skyhawk Trapmate Mini for proper bonding of the magnets. Step 3: Peel back the paper on the rubber feet to expose the adhesive and affix them to the designated areas on the back of the unit. Step 4: The Skyhawk Trapmate Mini is ready to be mounted.
Skyhawk Trapmate Mini Installation (continued): Method 3 : Self-Stick Rubber Mounting Feet Step 1: In the accessory kit locate the four self-stick rubber mounting feet. Step 2: Clean the four recessed areas on the back of the Skyhawk Trapmate Mini for proper bonding of the rubber feet. Step 3: Peel back the paper on the rubber feet to expose the adhesive and affix them to the designated areas on the back of the unit. Step 4: The Skyhawk Trapmate Mini is ready to be mounted.
Installation - Safety Guidelines: Make sure when placing the Skyhawk Trapmate Mini on an object that it is securely attached and cannot fall off and injure someone or fall onto a hard surface and damage the unit. Make sure that when placing the Skyhawk Trapmate Mini it will not interfere with other equipment.
Skyhawk Trapmate Mini Battery Replacement: The Skyhawk Trapmate Mini comes with two AA 1.5 volt lithium batteries already installed. Depending upon use it may take several years before the batteries need to be replaced. When they are replaced it is suggested to use a high quality name brand AA lithium battery like an Energizer Advanced Lithium or Ultimate Lithium battery.
Skyhawk Trapmate Mini Battery Replacement: Step 3: Remove the PC card/Battery holder from the enclosure. This can easily be done by turning the unit over and allowing the battery holder to fall into your hand Step 3: Remove and dispose of the old batteries properly.
Skyhawk Trapmate Mini Battery Replacement (continued): Step 4: Insert new batteries taking note of the direction symbols. Step 6: Replace PC card/battery holder by aligning holes to the mounting pins in the enclosure. Replace cover making sure to align the LED indicator on the cover to the LED on the PC Card (take note of image below for details). Replace cover screws. Turn screws clock-wise making sure not to overtighten.
Skyhawk Trapmate Mini Start-Up Operation: Before moving forward with the unit operation you must download the app onto your smart device and sign up for an account. Step 1: Download and install the Skyhawk Trapmate Mini Commander app from the Apple or Google Play store onto your compatible smart device. Go to sky-hawk.com for more detailed information on which devices are supported. Step 2: Make sure the unit is powered on by pressing the button once.
Skyhawk Trapmate Mini Shut-Down Operation: When the Skyhawk Trapmate Mini is not going to be used for an extended period of time (more than a few weeks) to monitor an object then it should be powered down to conserve battery life. Step 1: Remove battery cover, as shown in previous section (pages 10 & 11).
Skyhawk Trapmate Mini LED Indicators: The Skyhawk Trapmate Mini is equipped with a multi-color LED indicator for feedback status to the user.
Skyhawk Trapmate Mini Operation: In order to recieve alerts from your Skyhawk Trapmate Mini device, it must be used in conjunction with your Skyhawk Trapmate Mini Hub (sold separately). See the Skyhawk Trapmate Mini Hub user manual for additional informaton on connecting your devices. Once the Skyhawk Trapmate Mini has been connected to your Skyhawk Hub, and has been activated via your Skyhawk Commander app on your smartphone, it is ready for monitoring.
