Upper tool strikes the workpiece

Bending process
The bending process is complete
once bottom dead centre has been
reached. Upper die travels upwards.

Initial status: The press is at top dead
centre. The operator initiates a press
stroke with the foot switch. The pro-
tected field is clear.

Rapid traverse: Upper tool (upper die)
moves with a fast closing speed (rapid
traverse >10 mm/s). Programmable
safety system initiates the braking
process. The protected field is clear.
