TO ADJUST THE PICTURE QUALITY (V-DNR)
I
When an LD disc is played back, noise or color distortion may
appear on the screen. The Video-Digital NR system (V-DNR)
reduces noise or color distortion. Luminance (brightness) and
saturation (color) are adjusted respectively, as your preference.
Selecting the V-DNR mode
• You can select the disired V-DNR mode (STANDARD,
VARIABLE or V-DNR OFF) with the STANDARD button,
the VARIABLE button and the V-DNR OFF button on the
front panel, or with the V-DNR button on the remote control
unit. (Pressing the V-DNR button changes the mode
circularly.)
STANDARD:
V-DNR turns on in the standard (recommended) setting.

The V-DNR settings appear on the
screen for about 2 seconds.
VARIABLE:
The noise reduction effect on color can be adjusted with
the JQG dial, and the noise reduction effect on brightness
can be adjusted with the SHUI-ILE ring. Adjust them as
your preference (10 ste )s variable).

The " : " position on the display
indicates the STANDARD setting.
The display goes off when the JOG dial or SHUTTLE ring
is not operated for about 5 seconds. (Even when the
display goes off, the setting still remains, but cannot be
adjusted.)

NOTE:
• When the power is turned on after connecting the power
cord, the V-DNR mode is set to the STANDARD mode.
• The selected mode and settings are stored in the player's
memory while the power cord is connected.
• When the V-DNR button on the remote control unit is
pressed once, the last selected mode is displayed on the
screen for about 2 seconds. To change the V-DNR mode to
the next one, press the V-DNR button while the mode is
displayed.
• V-DNR mode can be set oradjusted even when the player
is not inplayback mode. However, you can check the result
only when the image appears on the screen.
• The noise reduction effect maybe difficult to see depending
on the discs or scenes.
