EXTRA PLAYBACK
I Still frame and Frame-by-Frame advance function ]
Press either of these buttons.
During playback if STEP (_111or II1_) on the remote control unit
is pressed, the picture will be frozen. At this point, the disc can
be played one frame at a time in either the forward or reverse
direction by pressing one of these buttons. The sound is
muted during still frame or frame advance operation.
To return to normal operation, press PLAY p,-.
• Front panel I_/1_1< is also used to display the still frame.

Sound cannot be heard during still or frame playback. Still playback can also be selected by pressing _/_,-I_ on the
front panel.
To return to normal playback, press p,-/_l again, or press PLAY P- on
the remote control unit.

During playback, the playback direction can be changed with
MULTI-SPEED. 1/4 the normal playback speed is set
automatically.
With + and - buttons, the playback speed can be changed
from x 3 to 1/90 the normal playback speed.
Sound is muted during Multi-speed playback operation. To
return to normal playback operation, press PLAY _,-.
• The selected speed is displayed by pressing DISPLAY on
the _emote contro_ unit.
If playback automatically switches to still frame display mode.
If a disc containing special signals called "picture stop codes" is
played at xl, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/30, or 1/90 speed, playbackpauses
automatically whenever the unit encounters a frame where a picture
stop code is encoded, and the still picture of that frame is displayed
on the monitor screen. To move from that position, press PLAY _ or
MULTI-SPEED 4/_.

By pressing p-/Ip_l for approx. 2 sec., "PSC ON" displays on the
screen. At the point where the stop code is recorded without
stopping, the viewing can be continued. One more time, press 1_/1_/41
for more than 2 sec., and "PCS OFF" displays on the screen. When a
picture stop code is encountered, the screen becomes still.
