Precaution Information to User DVD video disc region numbers This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. Only DVD video discs with compatible region numbers can be played on this player.

BSM (best stations memory) automatically stores the six strongest stations in the order of their signal strength. Disc Playback/Pause Repeat 1. When a disc is inserted, display shows “Format read”. For MP3/WMA or disc with mixed files, reading time may exceed 1 minute. 2. While audio/photo/video files playback, list menu will appear on the display. The list menu and operations are the same with USB playback. • During playback, press [ ] to pause playback. • The sound will be muted. • Display shows “PAUSE”. Press [ ] again to continue playback. To resume normal play, repeat the operation.
Registration and connection of Bluetooth device Pairing 1. Switch the Bluetooth on in the system setting menu. 2. Turn on Bluetooth function of your mobile phone. 3. Enter mobile phone’s Bluetooth setup menu. 4. Search for new Bluetooth devices. 5. Select AVH-4850BT from the pairing list on the mobile phone, and paired automatically. 6. After pairing successfully, the unit will show "Pairing code: ******". Then press "Pairing" on the mobile phone.

Hands-free phoning Notes for hands-free phoning General notes • Connection to all cellular phones featuring Bluetooth wireless technology is not guaranteed. • The line-of-sight distance between this product and your cellular phone must be 10 meters or less when sending and receiving voice and data via Bluetooth technology. • With some cellular phones, the ring sound may not be output from the speakers. • If private mode is selected on the cellular phone, hands-free phoning may be disabled.

Other source AUX source Camera View You can connect an external audio/video device to the unit. • Connect the external audio/video device to the AUX input jack. • Turn on the AV input setting. Connection/Installation Control Cables Reverse Driving Cable Connections Auto Brightness Control To avoid the display being too bright at night time, if the headlight cable is connected to ILLUMI, turning on the headlight will dim the backlight of the TFT LCD and vice versa. Telephone Mute If the MUTE cable is connected to a car phone, other audio outputs mute when one call is received by the car phone.

Appendix Troubleshooting The sound and video skip. Common Symptom Cause Leads and connectors are incorrectly connected. The power will not turn on. The unit will not operate. The fuse is blown. Action Confirm once more that all connections are correct. Rectify the cause and then replace the fuse. Be sure to install a fuse with the same rating. The aspect ratio is incorrect and the image is stretched. There is no image displayed. The image displayed stops (pauses) and the unit cannot be operated.
Appendix Handling guidelines Discs and player Use discs featuring any of the following logos. Use 12-cm discs. Do not use 8-cm discs or an adapter for 8-cm discs. Use only conventional, fully circular discs. Do not use shaped discs. Do not insert anything other than a DVD-R/RW or CD-R/RW into the disc loading slot. Road shocks may interrupt disc playback. Certain functions may not be available for some DVD video discs. It is not possible to play back DVD-RAM discs.
