2. Requirements
The Industrial Managed Switch provides remote login interface for management
purposes.Thefollowingequipmentisnecessaryforfurthermanagement:
z WorkstationsrunningWindows XP/2003/Vista/7/8/2008/10,MACOS X orlater,
Linux,UNIX,orotherplatformsarecompatiblewithTCP/IPProtocols.
z WorkstationsareinstalledwithEthernetNIC(NetworkInterfaceCard).
z Serial Port Connection(Terminal)
 The above Workstations come with COM Port (DB9) or USB-to-RS232
converter.
 The aboveWorkstationshavebeeninstalled withterminal emulator,suchas
HyperTerminalincludedinWindowsXP/2003,puttyorteraterm.
 Serial cable -- one end is attached to the RS232 serial port, while the other
endtotheconsole portoftheIndustrialManagedSwitch.
z EthernetPortConnection
 Network cables--Usestandardnetwork(UTP)cableswithRJ45connectors.
 The abovePC is installed withWeb browser and JAVAruntime environment
plug-in.

It is recommended to use Internet Explorer 8.0 or aboveto access
theIndustrialManagedSwitch.
