Troubleshooting
If a faucet installation doesn’t deliver water properly or leaks, finding the cause and fixing it can be easy.
Water leaks
from the vacuum
breaker (21).
Problem: Cause: Action:
Loosen and remove
the vacuum breaker
(18) from the faucet
spout (1).
Remove and replace
the rubber washer.
Replace the vacuum
breaker (18) onto the
faucet spout (1).
Water leaks
from under-
neath the
handle (7).
Damaged or loose
cartridge (6) or
o-rings or washers.
Problem: Cause: Action:
Remove the handle
(7) and the handle
screw (8) from the
faucet body (4).
Loosen and remove
the cartridge (6) from
the faucet body (4).
Check for worn o-rings
or washers. Re-install
the cartridge (6) back
into the faucet body (4).
Water leaks
from faucet
body (1).
Loose connections
at the union nut (1)
and supply connect-
tion fitting (2).
Problem: Cause: Action:
First try tightening
the union nut (1)
connection to stop
the leak.
If the leak persists,
loosen the union nut
(1) and supply
connection fitting (2).
Re-apply the thread
seal tape to threaded
ends.

Tighten all connections
with a wrench.
Vacuum breaker
(21) washer is worn
or damaged.
