1. MATERIAL DESCRIPTION
PLUSH
™
ACRYLIC RESURFACER CONCEN-
TRATE is in concentrated from and must be mixed
with water and/or sand to properly apply. PLUSH
™
ACRYLIC RESURFACER is a non pigmented,
100% acrylic latex compound for new or previously
sealed bituminous concrete tennis courts. It is
designed for field mixing with silica sand and water to
provide a fast drying, leveling and/or texture course.
2. INTENDED USE
PLUSH
™
ACRYLIC RESURFACER is intended for
use in leveling and resurfacing bituminous concrete
tennis courts. It can be mixed to serve (2) purposes:
a) Use as a non pigmented texture course to be
applied prior to the application of
PLUSHCOLOR
™
APC.
b) Use as a leveling treatment for minor surface
blemishes and/or “bird baths”. Do not apply in
lifts greater than 1/8".
3. PHYSICAL PROPERTIES
Color: Black
Weight per gallon: 8.8 lbs.
Drying time @ 700F & 50% relative humidity*
To the touch: 30 min. - 1 hour
To top-coat: 8 hour
Minimum ambient, surface and product installation
temperature: 500F and rising
*Low temperatures and high humidity will increase
drying time dramatically. Maximum surface
temperature = 1400F.
4. SURFACE PREPARATION
4.1 Base Construction
Surface must meet or exceed the American Sports
Builders (ASBA) applicable guidelines. Upgrading
and recoating previously colored surfaces requires the
surface and base construction to be in sound condition
and in compliance with the applicable ASBA guidelines.
4.2 New Hot-Mix Asphalt Cure
New hot-mix asphalt surfaces must be allowed to cure
14-28 days prior to application of PLUSH
™
ACRYLIC
RESURFACER, depending upon weather conditions.
4.3 Surface Condition
The surface upon which PLUSH
™
ACRYLIC
RESURFACER is to be applied must be smooth, free
of dirt, loose or flaking paint, oily materials or chemi-
cal residues, vegetation or any other foreign matter
that may prevent the proper bonding.
4.4 Surface Imperfections
Prior to application of PLUSH
™
ACRYLIC RESUR-
FACER, the court surface shall be flooded with water
and allowed to drain. Any depressions capable of
submerging a U.S. five cent piece after one hour
should be marked and repaired. Consult section 6.1.
5. MIXING INSTRUCTIONS
The following mix design has been found to be
satisfactory for most surface conditions. The mix may
be varied to suit individual job requirements through
modification of silica sand and water.
5.1 Leveling Mix

Clean potable water 1.5-2 gal.
5.3 Mixing
After the addition of water and silica sand to the
PLUSH
™
ACRYLIC RESURFACER concentrate,
thorough mixing is required. Make sure you have
empty pails on hand prior to beginning project as you
will need to add water per below. To mix properly,
split the contents of the pail in half, add ½ of the mix
amount to each pail to achieve the desired mix. A
mechanical mixer is recommended and the mixture
should be stirred until homogeneous. Periodic mixing
should take place as the job progresses to ensure
consistent application. In no case should PLUSH
™
ACRYLIC RESURFACER be diluted more than 3
gallons of water per 5 gallon pail.
