1. MATERIAL DESCRIPTION
PLUSHCOLOR
RECREATIONAL COATING IS
AN ALL PURPOSE CONCENTRATE (APC) that
must be mixed with water and/or sand to properly
apply. PLUSHCOLOR
is a top quality all purpose,
heavily pigmented, high solid acrylic latex concen-
trate. It is fortified with fine mineral fillers and acrylic
resins. Colorfast pigments product richer, longer
lasting, in depth color. PLUSHCOLOR
produces a
greater yield than other systems in that it can be used
for the Finish, Fortified, or Filler Courses.
2. USES
PLUSHCOLOR
(APC) serves two purposes:
a) Use as a Finish/Top Course when mixed with
the correct amount of clean potable water.
b) Use as a Filler/Texture Course when mixed
with correct amounts of silica sand and clean
potable water.
3. MATERIAL PROPERTIES
a) Colors: Tournament Green, Tournament Red,
Tournament Blue.
b) Weight: 10 lbs./gal.
4. COURT PREPARATION
Prior to applying PLUSHCOLOR
(APC), all net
posts, sleeves, anchors, and fencing shall be in place.
New bituminous concrete pavement shall cure a
minimum of 14-28 days prior to application. Concrete
shall be allowed to cure for at least 30 days.
5. SURFACE PREPARATION
The surface shall be cleaned removing all loose paint,
dirt, dust, mildew, oil, grease, leaves, and other debris
or any other foreign matter that may prevent proper
bonding. The court surface shall be checked with a ten
foot straight edge and/or flooded to locate low areas
which are greater than an 1/8” deep. Minor Depres-
sions or “birdbaths” greater than 1/8” – 1/4" shall be
identified and repaired. All rough paving joints and
roller marks shall be leveled prior to application.
6. MIXING
The mix designs below are for average surfaces. The
quantities can be adjusted slightly to achieve specific
results and speed of play. Make sure you have empty
pails on hand prior to beginning project as you will
need to add water per below. To mix properly, split the
contents of the pail in half, add ½ of the amount below
to each pail to achieve the desired mix.

After either water or sand is added to PLUSH-
COLOR
(APC) thorough mixing is required. A
mechanical mixer is recommended and the mixture
should be stirred until homogeneous. Periodic mixing
is recommended as the application proceeds in order
to ensure consistency.
7. COVERAGE
Depending on surface porosity:
a) Finish/Top Course - Approx. 25 sq. yds. of
concentrate per gallon per coat (.04 gal. per
sq. yd. per coat)
b) Fortified (RTU) Ready-To-Use - Approx. 15
sq. yds. per gallon per coat (.07 gal. per sq.
yd. per coat)
8. CLEAN-UP
All equipment can be cleaned with water if clean-up
occurs immediately after application.
9. LIMITATIONS
PLUSHCOLOR
(APC) should not be applied when
ambient temperature is below 50° F or when surface
temperature is above 140°F. Do not apply when rain
is imminent. Do not store in direct sunlight.
