corresponding holes to be drilled into the
bottomedgeoftheJeep’scrashbar.Look
through the holes to ensure that the Sub-
Frame Bracket does not interfere with any
oftheholelocations.Ifitdoes,thebracket
can be adjusted slightly in either direction
becauseyouhadleftthenutsun-tightenedin
Step16.Useahammeranda15/32”transfer
punch through each of the countersunk
holestomarkthevedrilllocationsalongthe
bottomofthecrashbar.Oncethesemarks
havebeenmade,removetheskidplate.

19.Usethedrillmotorand3/8”bittodrilltheve
holesalongthebottomofthecrashbarthat
were located and marked in the preceding
step.

De-burr the edges of the holes then use
touch-up paint or clear coat to protect the
baremetal.
20.Re-installtheskidplatewiththe3/8-16X1
SSatheadcapscrews.Thesevenscrews
which locate along the front surface of the
skid plate will thread into pre-existing weld
nuts.

For the ve screws that install along the
bottomedgeoftheskidplate,usea3/8at
washer and 3/8-16 lock nut on the inside
of the crash bar where the screw threads
protrude.Torqueall11atheadcapscrews
to30ft.-lbs.
21.Tightenthethree1/2-20locknutsatthetop
oftheSub-Frame Bracketandtorquethem
to70ft.-lbs.
22.Torque the eight (8) bumper mount lock
nuts(twoinboardandtwooutboardofeach
framerail)to70ft.-lbs.
