• Checking the Battery Level Check the battery power level before taking videos or photos. 1. Turn on the camera. 2. Check the battery power level that appears on the LCD screen. Battery power is full. Battery power is adequate. Battery power is low. Battery power is exhausted. Please recharge the battery. • Installing and Removing the Battery 1. Open the camera’s battery cover by pushing it outwards as illustrated. 2. Insert the battery as illustrated. 3.
• Using Your Battery Our laboratory testing has shown that our digital camera models comply with industry standard battery consumption levels (Camera & Imaging Products Association commonly known as CIPA). All digital cameras are high drain products. For the best performance and prolonged battery life, we recommend the use of a high capacity battery designed for such applications. (The lithium ion battery included with your camera is a high capacity battery).
• Inserting and Removing an SD Card The camera comes with internal memory which allows you to store pictures and movies. You can expand the memory capacity by using an optional SD memory card. 1. Insert the memory card into the camera as shown in the illustration. 2. To remove the SD card, press the card inwards to release it. 3. When the card pops out, gently remove it from the slot. MB Note: • When a memory card is inserted, movies/pictures are saved on card rather than on the built-in memory.
• Turning the Camera On and Getting Started 1. To turn on the camera: Flip out the LCD panel or press and hold the Power Button for one second. When the camera is turned on, the green LED will turn on 2. To record a movie: press the Record button ( ). 3. To take a picture: press the Camera Shutter button ( ) halfway down till the focusing frame turns from white to green, then press the Camera Shutter button all the way down to take your picture. • Self-timer (Picture Record Mode Only) The self-timer allows you to take pictures using a ten-second self timer. The Light on the front of the camera will blink. • Operations for Playback Mode The Playback Mode is for viewing and managing Videos/Photos on the built-in memory or on a SD card. Operation Display Screen 1. • Repeat Movies This function automatically repeats playing a single Video or all videos in order. Operation Display Screen 1. Use the Up/Down Buttons to select the Repeat One option or Repeat All option. 2. • Picture Playback Operation Display Screen 1. In the Picture thumbnail preview folder, use the direction buttons to locate the picture you want to view. 2. Press the Menu/OK button to view the picture. 3. Use the Right/Left Buttons to go to the next or last picture. 4. While the picture is being viewed, use Tele Button to magnify it. 5. Use the Direction Buttons to navigate the magnified picture. Press the Menu/ OK Button to exit the navigation mode.

4 Setting Up Your Camera • Setting Menu Operation Display Screen 1. In the Record Mode, press the Menu/ OK Button to enter the record menu screen. 2. Use the Right/Left Buttons to select Setting. 3. This Setting Submenu contains 7 options for configuring your Camera’s set up. They are Sound (operation sound),Information,Time Setting,Format,TV,Language,and Default Setting. • Sound Enable or disable the KeyPad tone and operation sound. Operation Display Screen 1.
• Information To change the Information setting by either using the hot key (Up Button or Option Setting: On: Shows the indicator(s) on the LCD display. Off: Do not show the indicator(s) on the LCD display. 1. In the setting submenu, press the Down Button select Information. 2. Use the Right/Left Buttons to choose between On or Off. 3. Press the Menu/OK Button to confirm your setting. I • Time Setting Operation Display Screen 1. In the setting Submenu, press the Down Button to select Time Setting.
2. Move between the Date and Time by using the Up/Down Buttons. Adjust the date and time by using the Left/ Right Buttons. 3. Press the OK Button to confirm your setting. Pressing the RECORD/ PLAY button leaves the Time Setting without any changes. • Format Yes: Formats either the internal memory or SD card (if inserted). NOTE: • All the data will be erased when the SD card is formatted. Make sure all the data are backed-up to PC before formatting SD card. • TV Ensures that the appropriate TV standard in your area is selected – either NTSC or PAL. Wrong TV system setting may cause image screen flickering.

5 Viewing Pictures and Movies on a TV • Connecting to a High-Definition 16:9(Wide) TV 1. Connect one end of the HDMI cable to your camera’s HDMI Out port. 2. Connect the other end of the to a television. 3. Set video input source of your TV to the “ HDMI” option. 4. The steps for viewing stored pictures and movie on a TV are exactly the same as for viewing them on the LCD monitor. Note: The camera will not capture a movie recording or take pictures when it is connected to an HDTV.

6 Viewing Pictures and Movies on PC • Installing Bundled Software The CD-ROM supplied with this camera contains 2 pieces of software. • • ArcSoft MediaImpression is a user-friendly application that helps you managing your media, burning your video into DVD, and uploading your videos to YouTube easily. Adobe Reader is a popular program that you need to have installed to view the User’s Manual. Many computer users will find they already have this software installed on their computer.
1. Connect the computer and camera with the supplied mini USB 2.0 cable. The LED will light up and blink. 2. After the LED stops blinking, movies and picture(s) can be found on your computer at “My Computer\Removable Disk\ DCIM\100MEDIA”. 3. In this folder, you can view, delete, move, or copy any movie/picture you want. 4. Use the bundled ArcSoft application software to edit the movies or pictures. Need help with your digital camera? 7 Burning the Record Clip onto a DVD Bundled software CD contains ArcSoft MediaImpression features burning the movie clip into DVD. You can share this DVD movie with family and friends by using regular DVD player. To create a DVD: 1. Install ArcSoft MediaImpression (Refer to Section 7). 2. Click Windows [Start]-->[(All) Programs]-->[ArcSoft MediaImpression ]. 3. ArcSoft MediaImpression main Screen will appear on your desktop. 4. Click [ Make Movie ] . 8 Uploading Video Files to YouTube The bundled CD contains the Arcsoft MediaImpression software. This software allows you to effortlessly upload videos to YouTube, enabling you to share them with your friends and family around the world. To upload video files to YouTube: 1. Install the ArcSoft MediaImpression onto your PC (Refer to Section 10). 2. Click [Start]-->[ (All) Programs ]-->[ ArcSoft MediaImpression ] 3. ArcSoft MediaImpression main Screen will appear on your desktop. 4. Click [ Video] Option.

10 Troubleshooting • Troubleshooting 111 If the LCD image is not clear when shooting, how can the focus be adjusted? If you are taking pictures less than 80cm, make sure the camera is set to the Macro mode.. 222 The light is not working. The battery power is low. 333 The files on the memory card do not display smoothly when the LCD shows the “!” marking. The “!” means the SD card is low speed or has incompatible content on the card.
