GETTING STARTED Preparation 1. Attach the camera’s hand strap as shown in the illustration. 2. Open the battery/SD card door. 3. Insert the battery in the correct orientation as shown in the illustration. 4. Insert an SD/SDHC memory card (Optional). The camera has 16MB internal memory (4MB available for image storage), but you can load an SD/SDHC memory card (We recommend the use of a Polaroid SD card - purchased separately - up to 4GB) to expand the camera’s memory capacity.
Installing Polaroid PoGo™ ZINK Photo Paper™ Insert the photo paper before printing images. 1. Slide the latch on the paper tray door as shown in the illustration. 2. Unwrap the 10-pack of Polaroid PoGo™ ZINK Photo Paper™. 3. Slide the 10-pack of Polaroid PoGo™ ZINK Photo Paper™ into the paper tray. Make sure the ZINK Smart Sheet™ is placed and loaded with the bar code face down. Shiny side of paper faces up. 4. Close the paper tray door. The ZINK Smart Sheet™ will automatically eject.
Charging the Battery The AC power adapter charges the battery and also powers the camera. Make sure that the camera is turned off and the battery is inserted before starting. 1. Insert one end of the AC power adapter into the DC IN 9V terminal of the camera. 2. Insert the other end of the AC power adapter into a wall outlet. The status LED is orange when charging and is green when charging is complete. Charging time varies according to the ambient temperature and the age of the battery.
Initial Settings Setting the Date and Time The date/time needs to be set when: The camera is turned on for the first time. The camera is turned on after leaving the camera without the battery for an extended period of time. When the date and time information is not displayed on the LCD display, follow these steps to set the correct date and time. 1. 2. 3. 4. Toggle the button to [ P ]. Press the button. Choosing your Language Specify what language in the menus and messages are to be displayed on the LCD display. Toggle the button to [ P ] or [ 7 ]. Press the button. CAPTURE MODE Capturing Images Your camera is equipped with a 3.0" full color TFT LCD display to help you compose images, playback recorded images/video clips or adjust menu settings. 1. Press the button to turn the power on. 2. Toggle the button to [ P ]. Set the focus switch to [ O ] if you want to capture a close-up image (0.6 to 1.45m: 2 to 5 feet). Toggle the abutton to select the appropriate flash mode setting.
Setting the Self-timer This setting allows images to be captured with self-timer. 1. Toggle the e!button to select the setting. Each press of the e!buttton moves the icon one step through the sequence and displays it on the screen. 2. Compose your image in the LCD display. 3. Press the shutter button. The self-timer LED flashes and the camera beeps (if beep is turned on). The image will be captured after the preset time has elapsed. The countdown is displayed on the LCD screen.
Setting the Scene Mode By simply selecting one of the available 19 scene modes, you can capture the image with the most appropriate settings. 1. Press the button. 2. Select the desired scene mode with the e / f buttons, and press the OK button. 3. Compose your image and press the shutter button. Setting Manual White Balance This manually sets the white balance and stores it.
Recording a Subject onto an Existing Background Image Pre-Shot helps you get the background you want, even if you need to ask someone else to record the image for you. Basically, Pre-Shot is a two-step process. 1. Toggle the button to [ P ]. a. Press the button. b. Select [Function] with the f button. c. Select [Capture Mode] with the c / d button, and press the OK button. d. Select [Pre-Shot] with the c / d button, and press the OK button. e. Press the button to exit from the menu screen. 2.
VIDEO MODE Recording Video Clips This mode allows you to record video clips at a resolution of 320 x 240 / 640 x 480 pixels. 1. Press the button. 2. Select [Video] with the e / f buttons, and press the OK button. 3. Compose the image. 4. Press the shutter button. The recording starts. Pressing the shutter button again and the recording stops. The recording time depends on the available memory on the memory card and the subject of the image being recorded.
PLAYBACK MODE Playback of Still Images You can play back your still images on the LCD display. 1. Toggle the button to [ 7 ]. The last image appears on the screen. 2. The images can be displayed in forward or reverse sequence using the e / f buttons. To view the previous image, press the e button. To view the next image, press the f button. Pressing the d button during image! playback will result in a 90-degree clockwise rotation display. Pressing the T button enlarges the image.
Attaching Voice Memos You may record a voice memo for a still image (up to 30 seconds in length). Only one voice memo per image. 1. Toggle the button to [ 7 ]. Protecting Images To prevent images from accidentally being erased, follow the steps below: 1. Toggle the button to [ 7 ]. 2. Select the image that you want to protect with the e / f buttons. 3. Press the button. 4. Select [Protect] with the c / d buttons, and press the OK button. 5. Select [Single] or [All] with the c / d buttons, and :Exit OK:Adj. press the OK button. 6. Select [Set] with the c / d buttons, and press the OK button.
Erasing Images 1. Toggle the button to [ 7 ]. 2. Select the image you want to erase with the e / f buttons. 3. Press the button. 4. Select [Single] or [All] with the c / d buttons, and press the OK button. [Single]: Erases the selected image or the last image. [All]: Erases all of the images except for the protected images. 5. Select [Execute] with the c / d buttons, and press the OK button. To not erase, select [Cancel], and press the OK button.
INSTANT DIGITAL PRINTER FUNCTIONS AND FEATURES 1. Press the PRINT button. 2. Select [Print] with the c / d buttons, and press the OK button. 3. Select the image that you want to print with the e / f buttons, and press the OK button. By default the print quantity is 1. Press the button to exit the menu mode, and the camera returns to preview display.
Editing your Images The camera has features that allow you to perform several photo editing functions on your images before printing. You can remove red-eye effects, crop images to specific sizes and more. Cropping Images a. After selecting you image in the review mode, press the PRINT button. Opt for the [Crop] feature with the c / d buttons, and press the OK button. b. Select the image that you want to edit with the e / f buttons. c. Press the OK button again to enter the cropping mode.
Removing Red-eye Effects a. After selecting you image in the review mode, press the PRINT button. Opt for the [Fix Red Eyes] feature with the c / d buttons, and press the OK button. b. Select the image that you want to edit with the e / f buttons, and press the OK button. The camera will automatically remove your subject's red eyes. After it processes, you can preview your new image. c. Press the OK button to save this improved image as a new file. d.
MENU OPTIONS Capture Menu This menu is for the basic settings to be used when capturing still images. 1. Toggle the button to [ P ]. 2. Press the button, and select the [Capture] / [Function] menu with the e / f buttons. 3. Select the desired option with the c / d buttons, and press the OK button to enter its respective menu. 4. Select the desired setting with the c / d buttons, and press the OK button. 5. To exit from the menu, press the button.
Sharpness This sets the sharpness of the image that will be captured. * Hard / Normal / Soft Saturation This sets the saturation of the image that will be captured. * High / Normal / Low White Balance This sets the white balance for a variety of lighting conditions and adjusts the images overall color according to the surrounding light conditions. Use this function if image color appears unnatural.
Capture Mode This sets the recording method at the time of capturing images. * [Blank] Single: Captures one image at a time. *[T] Continuous: Permits continuous capture of up to 3. The flash is disabled in this mode. *[U] AEB (Automatic Exposure Bracketing): Permits 3 consecutive images taken in the following order; standard exposure, underexposure and overexposure compensation. Burst: Permits continuous photography while pressing and holding the shutter button.

USING THE CAMERA AS A PC CAMERA Your camera can act as a PC camera, which allows you to videoconference with business associates, or have a real-time conversation with friends or family. Quick Printing Images can also be printed to an external printer. 1. Connect one end of the USB cable to your camera. 2. Connect the other end of the USB cable to the USB port on the printer. 3. Turn on your camera. 4. The [USB] screen is displayed. Select [Quick Print] with the c / d buttons, and press the OK button. 5. Select the image that you want to print with the e / f buttons, and press the OK button. Do not disconnect the USB cable until entire printing process is complete.
Connecting to a PictBridge Compliant Printer If a printer that supports PictBridge is available, images can be printed by connecting the digital still camera directly to the PictBridge-compatible printer without using a computer. Connecting the camera to the printer 1. Connect one end of the USB cable to your camera. 2. Connect the other end of the USB cable to the USB port on the printer. 3. Turn on your camera. 4. The [USB] screen is displayed.
