Operation
All alarm inputs are treated in a similar manner. Alarm inputs include non-verifi ed or verifi ed alarms, and water-fl ow alarms.
Activation of any alarm input when the panel is not already in alarm cause the following:
The buzzer sounds steadily•
If fi re drill is active, it is cancelled•
The Common Alarm indicator turns on•
The common alarm relay activates if aux disconnect is not active•
The Auto Signal Silence timer, if confi gured, starts•
The Signal Silence Inhibit timer, if confi gured, starts•
ARM-4 / ARM-8 relays are activated as confi gured, provided that aux disconnect is not active•
Signals and strobes are activated•
Subsequent Alarms when the panel is already in alarm, cause the following:
The buzzer sounds steadily •
If signals have been silenced as a result of the signal silence button or the auto signal silence timer, signals are resounded as •
they were before signal silence, the signal silence indicator is turned off, and the auto signal silence timer, if confi gured, is
restarted
Signals and strobes are activated•
Circuit Types
The term circuits refers to an actual electrical interface, either initiating (detection) or NAC (signal). The term zone is a logical
concept for a fi re alarm protected area, and will consist of at least one circuit. Often the terms zone and circuit are used
interchangeably, but in this manual the term circuit is used.
