Operation
All alarm inputs are treated in a similar manner. Alarm inputs include non-veri ed or veri ed alarms, and water- ow alarms.
Activation of any alarm input when the panel is not already in alarm cause the following:
The buzzer sounds steadily
If re drill is active, it is cancelled
The Common Alarm indicator turns on
The common alarm relay activates if aux disconnect is not active
The Auto Signal Silence timer, if con gured, starts
The Signal Silence Inhibit timer, if con gured, starts
ARM-4 / ARM-8 relays are activated as con gured, provided that aux disconnect is not active
Signals and strobes are activated
Subsequent Alarms when the panel is already in alarm, cause the following:
The buzzer sounds steadily
If signals have been silenced as a result of the signal silence button or the auto signal silence timer, signals are resounded as
they were before signal silence, the signal silence indicator is turned off, and the auto signal silence timer, if con gured, is
restarted
Signals and strobes are activated
Circuit Types
The term circuits refers to an actual electrical interface, either initiating (detection) or NAC (signal). The term zone is a logical
concept for a re alarm protected area, and will consist of at least one circuit. Often the terms zone and circuit are used
interchangeably, but in this manual the term circuit is used.
