Remove the handrail clamp
and discard the nuts.
3. Remove the handrail clamp. (Diagram 4) Nylock
®
nuts
hold the 2 handrail clamp bolts to the upper column. Care-
fully place your hand inside the upper column to catch the
nuts as they become loose. Use an 3/16" Allen wrench to
loosen and remove the 2 bolts from the handrail clamp. Set
the bolts aside, but discard the nuts.

Attach and secure vertical
handlebars.
4. Slide the vertical handlebars into position and align the
bolt holes. (Diagram 5) Open about a 2 inch gap between
the upper column and the handrail clamp by pulling or
pushing the handrails toward the foot pedals. Position the
vertical handlebar bracket between the upper column and
the handrail clamp. Align the mounting holes and replace
the 2 bolts. If necessary, have an assistant hold one side of
the vertical bars while you complete this step.
5. Use the Nylock
®
nuts provided to secure the vertical
bars and handrail clamp. Be sure to use 2 of the
new
Nylock
®
nuts supplied. Finger tighten the nuts while you hold
the bolts in position with the Allen wrench. Secure the nuts
using a open-end wrench (or crescent wrench). Hold the
nuts with the wrench and tighten the bolts with the 3/16"
Allen wrench.
