Hardness: Recommended hardness should not exceed 10 grains per gallon, or 170 ppm. System
will operate with hardness over 10 grains but the membrane life will be shortened. (Addition of a water
softener may lengthen the membrane life.)

Contents of Reverse Osmosis (RO) System
Note: Reverse Osmosis water should not be run through copper tubing as the purity of the water will
leach copper and cause an objectional taste in water and may cause pin holes. Be sure to follow any
state or local regulations.
Operational Parameters
Note: The operating pressure in your home should be tested over a 24 hour period to attain the
maximum pressure. If it is above 85 psi a pressure regulator is recommended and if over 100 psi
then a pressure regulator is required. Should you need a gauge to check your pressure, see page 26
(item no. 261003).
