b. Place a subject having a straight vertical line at a convenient distance from the
rig. Measure the distance between the subject and the camera focal plane and adjust the
focus knob to match.
2. Adjust the inter-ocular distance to maximum. Observe the monitor to see whether the
images from both cameras overlap. Make small adjustments in the focus knob setting until
the images overlap exactly.
a. If the focus has to be set to a longer distance for exact overlap, decrease the
value of the maximum convergence angle in increments of 0.1º until the focus knob setting
agrees with the measured distance.
b. If the focus has to be set to a shorter distance for exact overlap, increase the
value of the maximum convergence angle in 0.1º increments until the focus knob settings
agrees with the measured distance.
c. Check that the images remain overlapped as the inter-ocular distance is changed
with the iris slider.
