Specific Hazards Arising from the
Chemical
Vapors from liquefied gas are initially heavier than air and spread along ground. Avoid
inhalation of combustion products. Cylinders exposed to fire may vent and release
flammable gas through pressure relief devices Ruptured cylinders may rocket. Flash back
possible over considerable distance. Extremely flammable.
Suitable Extinguishing Media
Dry chemical or CO 2 . Water spray, fog or regular foam. Damaged cylinders should be
handled only by specialists.

Precautions for Firefighters
As in any fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH
(approved or equivalent) and full protective gear. In the event of fire and/or explosion do not
breathe fumes
