The dScope can measure various types of jitter in a variety of different ways. In this case, the
data jitter
from the EUT's digital output carrier is demodulated and fed to the dScope's analogue
Signal Analyzer. An FFT is calculated to show the spectrum of the jitter, and the peak level of the
jitter is also measured.
Specification
Dolby Laboratories does not provide a precise specification, however a peak jitter limit of 0.25UI (unit
intervals) is suggested in the
IEC60958
standard as a worst-case specification. In general, the figure
should not exceed 0.1UI.
