Play Track 19 and then click the

The Category Code field of the Channel Status is read from the EUT's digital output carrier. The

value is shown both as a binary value, and also decoded. The example below shows the results for

DVD playback.

Note that during this test, the dScope's Digital Inputs dialogue box is open to enable the operator to

note other parameters of the EUT's digital output, for example wordlength, sample rate and valid bits.

Specification

The Category Code should be correct for the Dolby Digital device being tested.

This test checks that the 'non-audio'

bit embedded in the

Channel Status

of the

EUT

's digital output

carrier operates correctly as defined in the

IEC60958

standard.
