this on land!) and close drain holes with drain

hole plugs.

Fault / remedy

What to do if air is escaping

You must first find the hole or place from which the air is escaping.

1. First check the valves. If you can detect air escaping here, clean the valve. Check whether the

lower rubber disc is covering the holes or whether it has perhaps been accidentally folded over.

If that does not work, replace the valve. A spare valve is included.

2. If no air is escaping from the valves, check the hull. To do this, take a large amount of water

mixed with commercially available washing up liquid. Work this up into an even, fine foam. Now

spread this foam very thinly over the entire kayak skin with a sponge. If bubbles of air appear

anywhere, there is a hole there.

3. It may be possible to repair small holes or tears with the repair kit. It contains four different

patches to match the different materials in the kayak skin. Select the appropriate patch and cut

it according to the size of the hole or tear. A patch should overlap the hole by approx. 1 cm on all

sides. You can buy the appropriate adhesive and additional patches from specialist boat and

camping equipment retailers.

Water inside the kayak? There are flow holes located all around the kayak between the side wall and the floor chamber. Water that slops into the kayak is fed downwards through these openings and collects between the floor chamber and outer skin of the kayak.
