N etw ork Type: There are two types, infrastructure and 8 02 .11 Ad-Hoc mode. Under

Ad-Ho c mo de, user can also cho o se the preamble type, the available preamble type

includes auto and lo ng. In addition to that the channel field will be available for setup in

Ad-Ho c mo de.

Tx Pow er: You can select the wireless o utput power here. If yo u’re no t to o far fro m AP

(goo d signal receptio n), yo u can select a lower o utput po wer to save energ y; fo r a

distant access po int, yo u can select a higher o utput power. It’ s suggested to select

“ Auto ” to let setup utility decide the best o utput power for yo u.

Prea mble: Select the preamble for Ad ho c mo de here. Available o ptio n are “ Auto ”

and “ Lo ng” .

RTS Threshold: User can adjust the RTS threshold number by sliding the bar o r key in

the value directly. The default value is 2 3 4 7 .

Fra gm ent Threshold: User can adjust the Frag ment threshold number by sliding the

bar or key in the value directly. The default value is 2 3 4 6 .

Cha nnel: O nly available for setting under Ad-Hoc mode. User can cho o se the channel

frequency to start their Ad-Ho c network.

Authentica tion Type: There a re 7 type o f authentication mo des suppo rted by RaUI.

They are O pen, Shared, LEAP, W PA, W PA-PSK, W PA2 , W PA2 -PSK.

Encryption Type: Fo r o pen and shared authenticatio n mo de, the selectio n o f

encryptio n type are None and W EP. Fo r W PA, W PA2 , W PA-PSK and W PA2 -PSK

authentication mode, the encryptio n type suppo rts bo th TKIP and AES.

8 0 2 .1 x Setting: It is an authenticatio n fo r W PA and W PA2 certificate to server.

W PA Pre-Sha red Key: This is the shared secret between AP and STA. Fo r W PA-PSK

and W PA2 -PSK authenticatio n mo de, this field must be filled with character lo nger than

8 and less than 3 2 lengths.

W EP Key: O nly valid when using W EP encryptio n algo rithm. The key must matched

AP’ s key. There are several fo rmats to enter the keys:

Î Hexadecimal – 40 bits: 1 0 Hex characters

Î Hexadecimal – 12 8 bits: 26 Hex characters.

Î ASCII – 4 0 bits: 5 ASCII characters

Î ASCII – 1 2 8 bits: 1 3 ASCII characters

Show Pa ssw ord: Check this bo x and all passphrases o r security keys yo u inputted

will be displayed as yo u type, but no t replace yo ur input with asterisk.

Use 80 2 .1 x : If the access po int yo u wish to co nnect requires 8 0 2 .1 x a uthentication,

please click o n ‘ Use 8 0 2 .1 x’ box, then click ‘8 0 2 .1 X’ tab to set 8 0 2 .1 x parameters.
