INTRODUCTION
Thank you for having chosen a PROEL product.
With FLASH X PROEL introduces the third generaon of a series of loudspeakers that represented a reference for
compact, portable systems for years. The new FLASH XD connue a long history of high-denion sound, reliability and
rugged construcon in an aordable package, adding now signicant steps forward in technology and a brand new style,
and sll oering the best-in-class performance, features and design.
FLASH12XD is powered by newly designed amplier module able to provide up to 1000W of clean and undistorted
power. The high-eciency Class D output stages, combined with light-weight and compact Switch Mode Power Supply,
gives a massive punch and a consistent reserve of power. The built-in 2-channel mixer with independent LINE and MIC
inputs can turn any FLASH12XD system into an instant PA system.
The use of a high-denion compression drivers and a long-excursion woofer carefully selected and customized provides
an accurate acousc response and an amazing sound pressure level with very low distoron.
FLASH12XD is controlled by the powerful PROEL CORE LT DSP, featuring high-performance signal processing and high-
denion 24bit converters, capable to deliver an outstanding sound denion and a dynamic performance typical of
top-end systems. The CORE DSP signal processing includes a sophiscated Dynamic EQ, able to shape accurately the
system’s sound while maintaining a full dynamic range at any level. In addion the CORE LT DSP oers an extensive
dynamic protecon to the system, for geng always the maximum undistorted output. 5 EQ PRESETS (MUSIC, LIVE, DJ,
MONITOR, SPEECH) can be easily selected to adapt the speakers to any kind of applicaon.
Other features of FLASH12XD are a compact and lightweight PP cabinet with extended internal ribbing and symmetrical
wedge angle, a constant wide-coverage (90° x 60°) horn for a uniform and coherent sound dispersion, newly-designed
ergonomic aluminium handles and built-in ying points for the use in xed installaon.
INSTRUCTIONS (FIG. 1 / 2 / 3)
1. LINE IN (combo XLR-JACK input)
This is a female combo connector, which accepts a XLR or a JACK plug from almost any type of equipment with a
balanced or unbalanced outputs. The XLR input is wired as follows:
Pin 1 = shield or ground
Pin 2 = + posive or "hot"
Pin 3 = - negave or "cold"
The JACK input is wired as follows:
Tip = + posive or "hot"
Ring = - negave or "cold"
Sleeve = shield or ground
When connecng an unbalanced signal, wire them as follows:
Pin2 / Tip = + posive or "hot"
Pin 1-3 / Sleeve = shield or ground
NOTE: whenever possible, use always balanced cables. Unbalanced lines may also be used but may result in noise over
long cable runs. In any case, avoid using a balanced cable for one channel and an unbalanced one for the other.
2. MIC IN (XLR input balanced)
This is a female XLR connector, which accepts a balanced microphone input from almost any type of Microphone. The
XLR input is wired as follows:
Pin 1 = shield or ground
Pin 2 = + posive or "hot"
Pin 3 = - negave or "cold"
3. MIX OUT (XLR output unbalanced)
These XLR connectors provide an unbalanced line-level signal that represent the mixed mic and line signal. Connect
these to the inputs of other powered speakers to make an array.
4. LINE LEVEL control
Rotary level control: it aenuates the level of the signal sent to the LINE IN input, the aenuaon ranges from “0” fully
closed (the signal is completely aenuated) to “10” fully open, nominal level (the signal is not aenuated in any way,
so is fed to the internal amplier at the same level at which it arrives on input).
