HOW TO OPERATE THE EXERCISE CYCLE
HANDLEBAR OPERATION
The handlebars can be used in etther the dual-action
mode, 1or both upper-body and lower-body exercise,
or the stat4onary mode, for pedaling exercise only.
Dual-action Mode
To convert the
handlebars to
the dual-
action mode,
the link arms
must be con-
nected to the
pedals. Refer
to drawing 1

gers as shown. Be careful not to pinch your fin-
gers. Next, slide the link arms onto the pedal bush-
rags. Move the link arms up and down slightlyto
make sure that they are fully seated on the pedal
bushings. CAUTION: Make sure that the link arms
are fully seated on the pedal bushings. If the link
arms are not on the pedal bushings, they may slip
off during use, resulting in injury to the user.
Stationary Mode
To convert the handlebars to the stationary mode, the
hnkarms must be dtsconnected from the pedals. Pull
the linkarms outward against the red washers untd
the hnk arms are free of the pedal bushings (see
drawing 2 above). Be careful not to pinch your fin-
gers. Next, lift the hnk arms off the pedals, and clip
them onto the lock rods (see drawing 1 above).
HOW TO ADJUST THE SEAT
For effecttve exer-
ctse, the seat must S_
be at the proper
height. As you
pedal, there should
be a slight bend in
your knees when
the pedals are in
the lowest posit_on. Seat

first turn the seat
knob counterclock-
wise two or three
turns to loosen tt.
Next, pull the seat
knob, raise or lower
then release the
seat knob. Move the seat post up and down slightly
until it locks into position. Then, tighten the seat
knob. CAUTION: Make sure that the pin on the seat
knob is inserted Into one of the adjustment holes
in the seat post. Do not rest the seat post on top
of the pin on the seat knob.
DESCRIPTION OF THE CONSOLE
The console features six modes that provide instant
exercise feedback dudng your workouts. The modes
are desedbed below.
Time--This mode displays the elapsed time.
Distance--This mode displays the total distance you
have pedaled.
Speed--This mode displays your pedaling speed.
Note: Speed and distance can be displayed in either
redes or kilometers. An MPH or a KPH will appear
when the speed is displayed to show which unit of
measurement is selected. To change the unit of
measurement, press and hold the On/Reset button
for ten seconds
Calones---Thts mode displays the approximate num-
ber of calodes you have burned.
Fat cafones--This mode displays the approximate
number of fat calories you have bumed (see FAT
BURNING on page 12).
Pulse--This mode dtsplays your heart rate when the
thumb pulse sensor is used (see step 3 on page 10).
