The POWER 545 I treadmill provides an impressive selection of features designed to make your workouts at home more effective and enjoyable. manual. To help us assist you, note the product model number and serial number before contacting us. The model number and the location of the serial number decal are shown on the front cover of this manual. For your benefit, read this manual carefully before you use the treadmill.
PART IDENTIFICATION CHART Use the drawings below to identify small parts used for assembly. The number in parentheses below each drawing is the key number of the part, from the PART LIST near the end of this manual. The number following the key number is the quantity used for assembly. Note: If a part is not in the hardware kit, check to see whether it is preattached. Extra parts may be included.
ASSEMBLY • Assembly requires two persons. • To identify small parts, see page 6. • Place all parts in a cleared area and remove the packing materials. Do not dispose of the packing materials until you finish all assembly steps. • Assembly requires the following tools: the included hex keys one Phillips screwdriver • After shipping, there may be an oily substance on the exterior of the treadmill. This is normal.
2. Make sure that the power cord is unplugged. 2 Remove the tie securing the Upright Wire (81) to the front of the Base (6). A 81 81 Next, identify the Right Upright (90). Have a second person hold the Right Upright near the Base (6). 90 See the inset drawing. Tie the wire tie (A) in the Right Upright (90) securely around the end of the Upright Wire (81). Then, insert the Upright Wire into the lower end of the Right Upright as you pull the other end of the wire tie through the Right Upright.
4. Hold the Right Upright (90) against the Base (6). Make sure not to pinch the Upright Wire (81). 4 Attach the Right Upright (90) with two 3/8" x 2 3/8" Screws (7), a 3/8" x 1 1/4" Screw (63), a 3/8" x 1 3/4" Screw (62), and four 3/8" Star Washers (13) as shown; do not fully tighten the Screws yet. 7 13 Attach the Left Upright (not shown) in the same way. Note: There are no wires on the left side. 81 6 63 5. Remove and save the four indicated 5/16" x 3/4" Screws (8).
6. If there are two screws (E) preattached inside each Handrail (84), remove and discard the screws. 6 28 11 E Attach a Handrail (84) to the Right Upright (90) with two 5/16" x 3" Screws (28) and two 5/16" Star Washers (11); start both Screws, and then tighten them. Make sure not to pinch the Upright Wire (81). 81 84 Attach the other Handrail (not shown) to the Left Upright (89) in the same way. Note: There are no wires on the left side. 89 90 7.
8. IMPORTANT: To avoid damaging the Pulse Crossbar (31), do not use power tools and do not overtighten the #10 x 1 1/4" Screws (9). 8 9 5 Orient the Pulse Crossbar (31) as shown. Attach the Pulse Crossbar to the Handrails (84) with four #10 x 1 1/4" Screws (9) and four #10 Star Washers (5); start all four Screws, and then tighten them. 31 84 9 5 84 9. With the help of a second person, hold the console assembly (G) near the Handrail (84).
10. Set the console assembly (G) on the Handrails (84). Make sure that no wires are pinched. Insert the excess Upright Wire (81) into the Right Upright (90). 10 G Attach the console assembly (G) to the brackets on the Handrails (84) with four 1/4" x 1/2" Screws (4); do not tighten the Screws yet. 84 84 81 4 4 90 11. Attach the Pulse Crossbar (31) to the console assembly (G) with six #8 x 5/8" Screws (1); start all six Screws, and then tighten them. Do not overtighten the Screws.
12. Carefully slide the Upright Crossbar (18) between the Left and Right Uprights (89, 90). Attach the Upright Crossbar with the four 5/16" x 3/4" Screws (8) that you removed in step 5 and four 5/16" Star Washers (11); start all four Screws, and then tighten them. 12 11 18 8 8 11 90 13. Raise the Frame (56) to the upright position. Have a second person hold the Frame until step 15 is completed. 89 13 Remove the two 5/16" x 3/4" Screws (8) from the Latch Crossbar (41).
. Remove the 5/16" Nut (34) and the 5/16" x 1 3/4" Bolt (23) from the bracket on the Base (6). 14 L Next, orient the Storage Latch (26) as shown. Attach the lower end of the Storage Latch (26) to the bracket on the Base (6) with the 5/16" x 1 3/4" Bolt (23) and the 5/16" Nut (34) as shown. 26 Then, raise the Storage Latch (26) to a vertical position, and remove the tie (L). 34 15. Remove the 5/16" Nut (34) and the 5/16" x 2 1/4" Bolt (25) from the bracket on the Latch Crossbar (41).
16. Firmly tighten the four 3/8" x 2 3/8" Screws (7), the two 3/8" x 1 3/4" Screws (62), and the two 3/8" x 1 1/4" Screws (63). 16 89 82 Next, set the Left Inner Base Cover (50) onto the lower end of the Left Upright (89). Slide the Left Base Cover (82) downward and press it onto the Left Inner Base Cover. 50 63 Then, set the Right Inner Base Cover (51) onto the lower end of the Right Upright (90). Slide the Right Base Cover (83) downward and press it onto the Right Inner Base Cover.
SP HOW TO USE THE TREADMILL HOW TO PLUG IN THE POWER CORD Follow the steps below to plug in the power cord. This product must be earthed. If it should malfunction or break down, earthing provides a path of least resistance for electric current to reduce the risk of electric shock. This product’s power cord has an equipment-earthing conductor and an earthing plug. IMPORTANT: If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced with a manufacturer-recommended power cord. 1.

HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER HOW TO USE THE MANUAL MODE IMPORTANT: If the treadmill has been exposed to cold temperatures, allow it to warm to room temperature before you turn on the power. If you do not do this, you may damage the console displays or other electrical components. 1. Insert the key into the console. Plug in the power cord (see page 16). Next, locate the power switch on the treadmill frame near the power cord. Press the power switch into the reset position.
5. Change the incline of the treadmill as desired. To reset the displays, press the Stop button repeatedly, or remove the key and then reinsert the key. To change the incline of the treadmill, press the Incline increase and decrease buttons or one of the Quick incline buttons. Each time you press one of the buttons, the treadmill will gradually adjust to the selected incline setting. 7. Measure your heart rate if desired.
8. When you are finished exercising, remove the key from the console. 4. Start the workout. ress the Start button. A moment after you press P the button, the treadmill will automatically adjust to the first speed and incline settings of the workout. Hold the handrails and begin walking. Step onto the foot rails, press the Stop button, and adjust the incline of the treadmill to zero. The incline must be at zero or you may damage the treadmill when you fold it to the storage position.
HOW TO USE A CUSTOM-FOCUS WEIGHT LOSS WORKOUT 6. Measure your heart rate if desired. See step 7 on page 19. 1. Insert the key into the console. See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 18. 7. When you are finished exercising, remove the key from the console. 2. Enter your weight. See step 8 on page 20. See step 3 on page 18. HOW TO CONNECT YOUR TABLET TO THE CONSOLE 3. Set a calories or time goal. Press the desired Workout Time or Calorie Goal button.
3. Connect your tablet to the console. Note: If there is more than one compatible heart rate monitor near the console, the console will connect to the heart rate monitor with the strongest signal. Press the iFit Sync button on the console; the console pairing number will appear in the display. Then, follow the instructions in the iFit Bluetooth Tablet app to connect your tablet to the console.
HOW TO USE THE SOUND SYSTEM HOW TO USE THE TABLET HOLDER To play music or audio books through the console sound system while you exercise, plug a 3.5 mm male to 3.5 mm male audio cable (not included) into the jack on the console and into a jack on your personal audio player; make sure that the audio cable is fully plugged in. Note: To purchase an audio cable, see your local electronics store. IMPORTANT: The tablet holder is designed for use with most full-size tablets.
HOW TO FOLD AND MOVE THE TREADMILL HOW TO FOLD THE TREADMILL HOW TO MOVE THE TREADMILL To avoid damaging the treadmill, adjust the incline to zero before you fold the treadmill. Then, remove the key and unplug the power cord. CAUTION: You must be able to safely lift 45 lbs. (20 kg) to raise, lower, or move the treadmill. Before moving the treadmill, fold it as described at the left. CAUTION: Make sure that the latch knob is locked in the storage position. Moving the treadmill may require two people. 1.
MAINTENANCE AND TROUBLESHOOTING MAINTENANCE c. Check the power switch located on the treadmill frame near the power cord. If the switch protrudes as shown, the switch has tripped. To reset the power switch, wait for five minutes and then press the switch back in. Regular maintenance is important for optimal performance and to reduce wear. Inspect and properly tighten all parts each time the treadmill is used. Regularly clean the treadmill and keep the walking belt clean and dry.
SYMPTOM: The walking belt slows when walked on Locate the Reed Switch (101) and the Magnet (103) on the left side of the Pulley (49). Turn the Pulley until the Magnet is aligned with the Reed Switch. Make sure that the gap between the Magnet and the Reed Switch is about 1/8 in. (3 mm). If necessary, loosen the #8 x 3/4" Truss Head Screw (95), move the Reed Switch slightly, and then retighten the Truss Head Screw.
SYMPTOM: The walking belt is off-center SYMPTOM: The tablet holder does not stay in place The edges of the walking belt should be aligned with the belt alignment marks (see the drawing below) on the foot rails. If necessary, follow the instructions below to align the walking belt. a. Rotate the tablet holder backwards. Then, tighten the indicated screw slightly until the tablet holder stays in place when it is rotated to the desired position. a.
EXERCISE GUIDELINES Burning Fat—To burn fat effectively, you must exercise at a low intensity level for a sustained period of time. During the first few minutes of exercise, your body uses carbohydrate calories for energy. Only after the first few minutes of exercise does your body begin to use stored fat calories for energy. If your goal is to burn fat, adjust the intensity of your exercise until your heart rate is near the lowest number in your training zone.
SUGGESTED STRETCHES The correct form for several basic stretches is shown at the right. Move slowly as you stretch—never bounce. 1. Toe Touch Stretch 1 Stand with your knees bent slightly and slowly bend forward from your hips. Allow your back and shoulders to relax as you reach down toward your toes as far as possible. Hold for 15 counts, then relax. Repeat 3 times. Stretches: Hamstrings, back of knees and back. 2. Hamstring Stretch Sit with one leg extended.
