In a new and fully charged condition the jumpstarter has enough power to jumpstart petrol & diesel vehicles up to 14 litres in capacity in both 12V & 24V modes. Charge your jumpstarter for 24 hours prior to first use and as soon as possible after each use. 2. Before making any connections, check the jumpstarter battery status by pressing the BATTERY STATUS button. The jumpstarter’s battery voltage should be above 12.6V in 12V mode and above 25.2V in 24V mode. 3.
HC4500 instruction Manual_1 15/11/11 11:20 AM Page 7 CHARGING WITH PC400 BATTERY CHARGER (240V AC CHARGING) IMPORTANT: DO NOT POWER ANY APPLIANCE FROM THE JUMPSTARTER WHILE IT IS BEING CHARGED USING THE AC CHARGER. WARNING: SET THE VOLTAGE OF THE JUMPSTARTER TO 12V VIA THE VOLTAGE SELECTION SWITCH. 1. To charge, set the voltage of the jumpstarter to 12V via the voltage selection switch and connect the supplied PC400 wiring harness to the cigarette lighter socket on the front of the jumpstarter. 2.

A double-ended cigarette lighter plug and lead is included for recharging while driving. WARNING: ENSURE THE JUMPSTARTER VOLTAGE IS SET TO THE SAME VOLTAGE AS THE VEHICLE BEING USED TO CHARGE THE JUMPSTARTER (12V FOR 12V VEHICLES & 24V FOR 24V VEHICLES).
HC4500 instruction Manual_1 15/11/11 11:20 AM Page 9 USING THE JUMPSTARTER AS A POWER SUPPLY WARNING: ENSURE THE JUMPSTARTER IS SET TO 12V WHEN POWERING 12V APPLIANCES. IF SET TO 24V THIS MAY CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE APPLIANCES. The jumpstarter utilises 2 x 31Ah AGM batteries and can be used as a power supply by connecting a cigarette lighter plug into the DC socket located on the front of the jumpstarter. It is recommended to check the battery capacity before using the jumpstarter as a power supply.

When the BATTERY VOLTAGE STATUS button is pressed the display will indicate the battery voltage level. To check the battery capacity : Step 1 Disconnect any appliance and accessories that might be running from the jumpstarter, as this will effect the reading. Ensure the jumpstarter is not being charged.

There could be a number of reasons why the jumpstarter did not start your vehicle. Check the following: 1. Ensure the battery is fully charged. Press the BATTERY STATUS button to check the condition of the battery (state of charge). Refer to page 10 (“Checking Battery Capacity”) for further information. 2. Ensure you have followed the correct operating procedure.
