3.6  Creating Disk Array or Logical Driver 
A disk array can be created in any of the following three ways. 
Automatic Configuration  Checks the number of unconfigured HDDs connected currently and 
creates disk arrays of a proper capacity and RAID level and logical 
drives automatically. 
Express Configuration  Creates disk arrays and logical drives semi-automatically only if you 
select a RAID level fit to the environment used and the number of 
logical drives to be created. 
Advanced Configuration  Creates disk arrays and logical drives if you select or enter every 
parameter. 
3.6.1 Automatic Configuration 
1. Click Disk Arrays in the Tree View. 
2. Click the Create tab in the Management Window and select Automatic Configuration. 
3. Click [Submit]. 
Disk arrays and logical drives are automatically created. 
In the automatic configuration, the RAID level to be created is automatically determined 
depending on the number of free HDDs as follows: 
RAID0 for a single HDD 
RAID1 for two HDDs 
RAID5 for three HDDs 
RAID5 for four HDDs 
3.6.2 Express Configuration 
1. Click Disk Arrays in the Tree View. 
2. Click the Create tab in the Management Window and select Express Configuration.
