Thepatterndependsontheoverallgeometry,includingthenumberofelements,
elementspacing,elementlength,andsoon.Sometimestheantennaisenclose

theshorterelements.Thebeamwidthvarieswithantennageometrybutgenerallyis

tothelength(wherelongerlengthproduceshighergain).Typicalvaluesare6to15dBi.

ParabolicReflectorAntennas
Aparabolicreflectorantennaconsistsofaparabolicshapeddishandafeedantenna
locatedinfrontofthedish.Powerisradiatedfromthefeedantennatowardthe
reflector.Duetotheparabolicshape,thereflectorconcentratestheradiationintoa
narrowpattern,resultinginahigh‐gainbeam.
