ConnectingAntennas
EachradiomusthaveanantennaconnectedtotheMainantennaportontheRLX2
radio;withoutanantennaforeachradio,thenetworkwillnotfunctioniftheradiosare
morethanafewmetersapart.Youshouldalwaysconnectthenumberofantennason
PortA,PortA‐PortC,orPor
tA‐PortB‐PortC,asindicatedinthe#antennascontrol.The
networkwillnotfunctionwithoutallantennasinstalled.
Allantennasforradiosthatcommunicatedirectly witheachothershouldbemounted
sotheyhavethesameantennapolarity.AntennaswithN‐jackconnectorscabbe
mounteddirectlytotheradiousinganN‐plugtoN‐plu
gadapter.Screwtheantenna
ontotheantennaportconnectoruntilitissnug.
Forremoteplacementofantennas,anextensioncablewithN‐plugscanbeused.
BecausetheantennacableattenuatestheRFsignal,useanantennacablelengththatis
nolongertha
nnecessarytoensureoptimumperformance
Important: If the radio is to be used in a hazardous location, the radio must be mounted in an
enclosure approved for hazardous locations. The radio requires a separate cable connection to the
SMA connector that leads to an internal antenna.

holdtheantennawhiletheotherpersonmonitorstheRemoteradio'ssignal
strengthdisplayedontheConfigurationPC.
