RLX2IHNF
ThiscontrolisonlypresentontheRLX2IHNFmodel.Itallowstheunittobe
configuredtooperatein802.11a/gmodeortooperatein802.11nmode
(default).Inaddition,itallowsconfigurationofwhethertheunitwillallow
useof40MHzwidechannelsforChildcl
ients.
Note:TheParentradiolinkofaRepeaterautomaticallyusesamodethatis
compatiblewiththeParentsettings.Forexample,anRLX2IHNFmayconnect
toanRLX2IHWmasterwhichonlyoperatesin802.11a/gmode,andstilluse
802.11nmodeforanyChildRepeaters.
802.11a/g
Theradioactsasan802.11aradioonthe5GH
zband,andan802.11gradio
onthe2.4GHzband.Datarateswillbelimitedtothe802.11a/grates(54
mbpsmaximum).802.11noperationalfeatureswillbedisabled.Itisnot
necessarytoselectthismodeforRLX2IHNFradi
ostolinktootherRLX2or
RLXIBseriesradios;theywilllinktheirbestpossiblespeedsregardlessof
mode.Thismodeisnotcommonlyused.Itismainlyusedtoallow802.11
a/b/gclientdevicesthatcannotlinkto802.11ndevicestowork.Oneexample
ofsuchadeviceistheProSoft1734AENTRwirele
ssI/Oclient.
802.11n
DefaultoperationalmodeoftheRLX2IHNFradio.All802.11nfeaturesare
operational,and20MHzwidechannelsareused.
802.11.nwide
Utilizesadjacentpairsof20MHzwidechannelsasasingle40MHzwide
channel.Thisallowsthefastestdatathroughputtoother802.11ndevices.
Only802.11nde
vicescanutilizethismode,butallRLX2radi oswilllinkattheir
bestspeedregardlessofmode.
Channelsinthe5GHzbandare20MHzapart,so802.11nwidemodeoccupies
onlytwochannelsinthatband.However,channelsinthe2.4GH
zbandare
spacedonlyfiveMHzapart,so802.11nwidemodeinthe2.4GHzband
occupieseightadjacentchannels!Sincethereareatmost13channelsinthe
2.4GHzband,andonlythreechannelsdonotoverlapothers,itisnot
recommendedtoenablewidemod
eon2.4GHzbandchannels.
