Why is temporary job-site surface protection needed?
Every construction, remodeling or repair project involves moving large and varied amounts of equipment and
personnel into and out of a jobsite which can cause unnecessary damage which the repair of, even of minor dings and
scratches, creates unnecessary costs in money and time. In fact, most projects specifically require temporary
protection be used throughout the construction process.
How do I install PROBoardMAX™ and PROBoard™?
Clean (Sweep & Vacuum) all dirt and debris off flooring to be protected
Place onto floor or stand against wall in linear fashion in area to be protected
Trim (if needed) to fit around corners / walls
Tape Seams between sheets together for additional flooring protection.
To further eliminate waste consider overlapping the sheets rather than trimming to fit along walls.
How do I trim PROBoardMAX™ or PROBoard™?
We recommend using a high quality utility knife to “score and snap” for best results.
Hint: Do not trim sheets directly on the floor or wall to further help prevent floor and wall damage.
What tape should I use?
For short term installation / use of PROBoardMAX™ and PROBoard™ we recommend using medium strength paper
tape (i.e. painter’s tape).
For long term installation / use of PROBoardMAX™ and PROBoard™ we recommend using heavy duty kraft paper tape.
For PROEdge™ we recommend using artists tape.
For areas that are still curing and need to breathe we recommend using vapor -permeable tape.
We do NOT recommend taping PROTEX® products directly to the floor but rather to tape to other PROTEX® products
or to unfinished wall / molding. If it is necessary to tape directly to the floor, we recommend that you first consult the
flooring manufacturer for their recommended tape solutions.
How do I remove PROTEX® products?
Carefully pull up on tape and then remove PROTEX® products.
Hint: If using heavier tape, lifting up the sheets themselves, rather than the tape itself, will decrease removal time.
Will PROBoardMAX™ or PROBoard™ stain my floors or walls?
No, unlike other temporary protection products, PROBoardMAX™ and PROBoard™ do NOT contain any inks or dyes
which could leach into and stain floors or stairs and damage them.
