Normal and percussion drilling

Drilling
Pushselectorswitch(4)totheleft.
Percussion drilling
Pushselectorswitch(4)totheright.
Tungstencarbidedrillbitsarerequiredfordrilling
concrete,stoneandmasonry.Therotational
directionswitch(10)mustbeintheclockwise
position.
Replacing the keyless chuck (Fig.)
Thedrillchuckissecuredwiththesecuring
screw(16)againstlooseningfromthedrill
spindle.Openthedrillchuckfullyandcompletely
unscrewthesecuringscrew(Caution: lefthand
thread!).
ClampanAllenkey(17)intothedrillchuck.Set
anopen‑endspanner(15mm)ontothespanner
surface(2)ofthedrillspindleandholdtight.
Loosenthedrillchuckwithalightblowonthe
Allenkey.
Screwonthedrillchuckinreverseorder.
Beforetighteningthesecuringscrew(16)
respectively,thequickclampingdrillchuck
mustbetightenedsecurely(tightening
torqueapprox.50Nm).
Screwdriving (see Fig.)
Thedrillspindle(21)isequippedwithaninternal
hexagonforusewithscrewdriverbits(19).After
removingthedrillchuck,ascrewdriverbitcan
beinserteddirectlyintotheinternalhexagon
ofthedrillspindle.Slidethesafetycover(20)
ontothespindlethreadrst,asitwillretainthe
screwdriverbit.
Operational Tips
Sharpening drill bits
OnlyHSSdrillbitsinperfectcondition(HSS
=highspeedsteel)shouldbeusedfordrilling
metal.
Bench Stands
Forjobsrequiringhighprecision,theuseofa
benchstand(accessories)isrecommended.
Machine vice
Clampworkpiecestightfordrilling,i.e.,using
themachinevice(seeAccessories).Thiskeeps
theworkpiecefromturningandthusprevents
resultingaccidents.
Drilling tiles
Setselectorswitch(4)tothedrillsymbol.Wait
untilthetilehasbeencompletelypenetrated
beforeswitchingovertothehammersymboland
continuingwithpercussiondrilling.
Tapping
Clampthetapdrillcarefullyandverytightto
preventslipping.
Storage
Theunitshouldbestoredinadryplacewhereit
isprotectedagainstfreezing.
Service
Seeenclosedsheet.
Maintenance
Periodicallycleantheventilationslots(5)on
themotorhousing.
Afteranoperatingperiodofapprox.200
hours,thefollowingmaintenanceworkmust
beperformed:
‑ Checkthemotorbrushesandreplaceif
necessary.Cleanthemotorhousing.
‑ Renewthegreasellingofthegearbox.
Whenthecarbonbrushesarewornout,the
machineswitchesitselfoff.Themachinemust
thenbesenttocustomerservicefor
maintenance(seeenclosedsheet).
Toverifythatthedoubleinsulationis
intact,themachinemustbesubjectedto
asafetytestafter‑wards.Therefore,these
maintenancetasksaretobeperformed
onlybyaprofessionalelectro‑workshop.
