Focus of Evaluation
The first area of study is the remote control for the projector.
This artefact is very important feature of the projector operation
especially as the model that is the focus of this evaluation is fixed to
the ceiling. Most of the same functions, which appear on the remote
control, are also available on the actual projector casing - except for
the mouse control and laser pointer features. However, you would
need to be very tall indeed in order to reach them. As a result,
physically touching the controls on the projector was not part of the
task list. The picture below is of the actual test environment.
The second area of study is the integrated system menu or GUI
– Graphic User Interface that is featured in the projector, and
projected on to the top of the screen. Once the integrated menu has
been accessed it allows the user to operate many other features that
are not offered directly on the remote control. Navigation though the
integrated menu interface is carried out by using the navigation and
select functions on the remote control. These are highlighted below
on a close-up of the remote control.
