The Evaluations
User One
Task One: Please turn on the projector.
This user took time to locate IR sensor located at the rear of the
projector, she also seemed unsure as to whether or not the projector
is active during the projector bulbs warm up period.
Task Two: Once the projector has been started up, utilise the
integrated laser pointer on the remote control, please use it to point at
something on the screen.
This user easily locates the intuitively located yellow laser pointer
button on the remote control.
Task Three: The volume on the projector needs to be adjusted, please
access volume control and raise volume.
User easily locates and adjusts volume control on the remote, users
attention is drawn to bottom left hand side of projected screen by on
screen GUI of the volume control function.
Task Four: It is necessary to set up the projector for use by a French
delegation later tonight. Please attempt to change the interface
language to French.
Task set is solved after initial confusion over the function of the main
navigation thumb button. User comments she felt it to be more
of a button as opposed to a means of GUI navigation. The word
English can be seen to the far right of the GUI but for the
moment our user cannot figure out how to operate the GUI’s
navigation to select the language menu. Task completed once
navigation element of the remote i.e. the thumb stick was figure
out.
Task Five: The French delegation has just cancelled their session for
tonight; please reset the language to English.
Following a now familiar pattern the user resets the language option
to English, user still appears unsure of selection mechanism of the
GUI remote.
Task Six: It is necessary to draw particular attention to an item
