The clearly marked zoom function on the remote makes this task easy
for the user
Task Seven: Please switch between the ‘Computer Input’ and ‘Video’
channels.
This user opts to switch using the remote control button
Task Eight: Because of the low light in the room, it necessary that
you adjust the brightest control of the projector.
GUI navigation yields no problems, the small up and down arrows
pose problems once again, user takes time to settle on correct control
adjuster.
Task Nine: Please select the ‘widescreen’ in order to view a DVD in it’s
preferred format.
Rattled by the previous task this user also has trouble with this task,
navigation is OK, still confusion over the selection or action elements
of the remote/GUI interface.
Task Ten: Please ‘Freeze’ a frame of film on the projector for a
moment and then unfreeze it.
No problem, freeze button is clearly marked upon the remote.
Task Eleven: That completes this segment of the evaluation; please
reset the projector by turning it off now and then switching it back on.
User presses power of button until machine powers down i.e. presses
button twice.
Summary
Once again this user found tasks reminiscent to the operation of a
regular television remote relatively easy yet once the user was
confused when operating the remotes GUI. Despite the poor
functionality of the remotes GUI this user expressed that she felt the
tasks set where easy to complete.
