Chapter 3: Operating Information
Backing Up Your 8570 Vehicle-Mount Computer
Methods of backing up data include:
• Copying your data to a network server or another networked computer.
• Copying your data to a CD-ROM drive to create a permanent,
incorruptible archive.
• Copying your data to a backup device such as a tape drive or to an external
hard drive.
Important: A Microsoft Windows licensed registration number is affixed
under the port cover of each 8570 unit. The My-T-Soft license
information is printed on a paper tag that is shipped with each
8570. This information is required to reinstall the 8570 operating
system and My-T-Soft.
IT IS CRITICAL that you write down the Microsoft Windows
registration number and then store it and the My-T-Soft
registration tag in a safe place alongside the computer’s
backup information.
