While there may be differences between the SAR levels of various
phones and at various positions, they all meet the government
requirement.
The FCC has granted an Equipment Authorization for this model
phone with all reported SAR levels evaluated as in compliance with
the FCC RF exposure guidelines. SAR information on this phone is on
file with the FCC and can be found under the Display Grant section of
www.fcc.gov/oet/ea/fccid after searching on FCC ID: GM37515UA,
GM37515UB or GM37515CA.
For body worn operation, this phone has been tested and meets the
FCC RF exposure guidelines for use with an accessory that contains
no metal and that positions the handset a minimum of 1.5 cm from
the body. Use of other accessories may not ensure compliance with
FCC RF exposure guidelines. If you do not use a body-worn accessory
and are not holding the phone at the ear, position the handset a min-
imum of 1.5 cm from your body when the phone is switched on.
FCC Hearing-aid Compatibility (HAC) Statement:
The UMTS variant of the EP10 has been tested and rated for use with
hearing aids for some of the wireless technologies that it uses. How-
ever, there may be some newer wireless technologies used in this
product that have not been tested yet for use with hearing aids. It is
important to try the different features of this product thoroughly
and in different locations, using your hearing aid or cochlear implant,
to determine if you hear any interfering noise. Consult your service
provider or Psion for information on hearing aid compatibility. If you
have questions about return or exchange policies, consult your serv-
ice provider or Psion.
The UMTS EP10 has been tested to the international standard ANSI
C63.19 to ensure compatibility with hearing-aids and has been cate-
gorized as having an 'M' and 'T' rating of 3. To check if this is compat-
ible with a particular hearing aid, add the 'M' or 'T' rating of the EP10
to that of the hearing aid. If the result is 4 then this should indicate
the combination is useable; if the result is 5 then the combination
should provide normal use and if the result is 6 or more, then the
