Troubleshoot
The following guidelines are intended for troubleshooting simple and common issues. If you nd that you cannot
x the problem yourself, please consult a local plumbing professional, or contact our customer service hotline at
1-800-928-7624. Please do not attempt to disassemble and repair the Purlette system, as such action could result in
damage to the system and void of warranty.
Issue Possible Cause
Recommended Action
Water yield decreases drastically
Filtered water quality is poor
(High TDS level)
• The three-way feed water ball valve
is not fully open, causing a decrease in
water ow.
• Filter blockage or failure.
• The lter life has expired.
• Filter not in use for an extended period of
time (over 3 days).
• Filter/lters expired or defective.
• Check to make sure three-way feed water ball valve
is fully open.
• Replace the damaged or expired lter/lters.
• Turn on drinking water faucet and let it ush for 3-5
minutes.
• Replace the expired or defective lter/lters.
TDS is high, but lters have been recently
replaced
• The level of TDS in feed water exceeds
the maximum level permitted by the EPA
for public drinking water.
• Immediately uninstall the Purlette system to avoid
damage.
• Install a pretreatment device to the cold water supply
stop valve or main water shutoff valve.*
• Reinstall the Purlette system after the pretreatment
device.
*If water source has a TDS of over 500 ppm, a pretreatment device is required to be installed before using the system.
