Section 2 Helm Systems
DC 325
2.10 Compass
The compass is located at the helm. To
adjust the compass, read the instructions on
“Compass Compensation” included in the lit-
erature packet. The compass cannot be
adjusted accurately at the factory as it must
be compensated for the influence of the
electrical equipment and electronics unique
to your boat. The compass should be
adjusted by a professional after the electron-
ics and additional electrical accessories are
installed and before operating the boat.
2.11 Bow Thruster
The bow thruster is electrically driven and
controlled by a joystick on the helm. Service
access for the bow thruster is through the
forward in-deck hatch. The bow thruster is
powered from its own battery. This battery is
located just in front of the thruster in the for-
ward bilge area. Operate in short bursts of a
few seconds to preserve battery life. Refer to
the bow thruster manual for more informa-
tion, maintenance and warranty information.
2.12 Spotlight (Optional)
The spotlight is controlled by a panel on the
helm and a microprocessor located behind
the port side MDP panel. To access it
unlatch the aft facing backrest and pull back-
wards. Unlatch the two cam latches on the
poly storage unit and remove. Refer to the
spotlight manufacturer’s owner’s manual for
an explanation of the features and opera-
tion.
2.13 Control Systems
Maintenance
Control Maintenance
Periodic inspection of the control systems
and all connections should be made. Signs
of rust, corrosion, wear, or other deteriora-
tion must immediately be serviced. Periodic
lubrication of all moving parts and connec-
tions with waterproof grease is required.
Control system adjustments may become
necessary. If adjustments are necessary,
see your Pursuit Dealer.
Steering System Maintenance
Periodically inspect all steering hoses, link-
ages and helm assemblies. Signs of corro-
sion, cracking, loosening of fastenings,
excessive wear, or deterioration must be
corrected immediately. Check the hydraulic
steering fluid level frequently and maintain
the proper level. Periodic lubrication of all
moving parts and connections with light
waterproof grease is required. Failure to do
so can lead to steering system failure and
result in loss of control.
! WARNING
ROTATING PARTS HAZARD
A rotating bow thruster can cut, entangle
or draw a swimmer closer or into the
thruster causing death or serious injury.
DO NOT use the bow thruster near
swimmers.
Bow Thruster Control
NOTICE
DO NOT operate bow thruster out of
the water, even momentarily. Water
must be supplied to prevent impeller
from over speeding, which will result
in serious damage and void the
warranty.
