Section 7 Exterior Equipment
DC 325
Boats at anchor in high swell conditions will
snub on the anchor line. This can cause slip-
page or apply excessive loads to the wind-
lass.
Anchor Line Secured to Cleat
DO NOT use the windlass as a winch to
move the boat over the anchor. Move the
boat under its own power to the anchor to
break the anchor loose.
The anchor is retrieved by releasing the line
from the bow cleat and activating the
“Retrieve” switch at the helm. Once the
anchor is retrieved, secure the anchor to the
chain snubber or bow cleat to prevent it from
being released while underway.
Bow Ladder (Optional)
An optional bow ladder allows for passenger
loading and unloading on a beach. The lad-
der is located within the anchor locker hatch.
To deploy, simply push the ladder towards
the starboard hull side using the deployment
handle. Gravity will assist in the deployment.
To retrieve raise the grab bar and pull the
ladder back into the boat. Be sure to fully
stow the ladder prior to getting underway or
damage may result.
Windshield
The DC 325 is equipped with an opening,
heavy duty, aluminum windshield. The front
and side wing panels are tempered safety
glass. The vent window is provided with
locks that secure the window in the open
and closed position. The security of the vent
window should always be verified before
getting underway. The glazing can be
replaced, similar to replacing automotive
windshields.
! WARNING
MOVING PARTS OR
ENTANGLEMENT HAZARD
Contact with moving parts can entan-
gle, cut, resulting in loss of body
parts, strangulation and/or severe
loss of blood, causing serious injury
or death. Stay clear of moving parts.
! CAUTION
Be sure to deploy and secure anchor
prior to deploying the forward board-
ing ladder. The forward ladder is not
meant for boarding from the water.
NOTICE
Failure to properly stow the bow lad-
der may result in damage.
! CAUTION
To prevent injury or damage to the
vent window or windshield the vent
window must be secured when in
either the open or closed position.
