Problem Cause and Solution
The boat vibrates at cruising speeds.
• Propeller may be damaged and need
repair.
• The propeller or propeller shaft is bent.
Repair or replace damaged components.
• The running gear is fouled by marine
growth or rope. Clean running gear.
• The engine is not trimmed properly. Trim
the engine.
Engine Problems
The engine is running too hot.
• The engine raw water pick-up strainer up
is clogged with marine growth. Clean
pick-up.
• The engine raw water pump impeller is
worn or damaged. Repair the pump.
• The engine thermostat is faulty and
needs to be replaced.
The engine alternator is not charging
properly.
• The battery cable is loose or corroded.
Clean and tighten battery cables.
• The alternator is not charging and must
be replaced.
• The engine battery isolator in the charg-
ing system is not working properly.
Replace the isolator.
• The battery is defective. Replace the bat-
tery.
The engine suddenly will not operate
over 2000 RPM.
• The engine emergency system has been
activated. The onboard computer has
sensed a problem and has limited the
RPM to protect the engine. Find & cor-
rect the problem.
• The tachometer is bad and needs to be
replaced.
