Cautions on using SD memory cards 01 • SD memory cards are precision electronic devices. Handle them with care. Bending, dropping or subjecting SD memory cards to strong forces or shocks could damage them. Also, do not use or store SD memory cards in environments where static electricity or electric noise tends to be produced. We recommend periodically making copies of valuable data.
01 SD memory card folder structure The folders video, picture, text and system are created in the root directory. The files stored in the different folders are as shown below. Only store the specified files in the different folders. Storing a file in the wrong folder may lead to malfunction. • video: Video files (.mpg, .m2t, .mpeg and .ts), time map table file (.map) and one part of a divided file (.lst) • picture: Still picture files (.bmp) • text: Text crawl file (.txt) • system: Settings file (.

Chapter 3 03 Connections Be sure to turn off the power (set it to standby) then unplug the power cord from the power outlet whenever making or changing connections. Connecting the HDMI OUT terminal Using a single cable, video and audio signals can be transmitted to HDMI-compatible equipment as digital signals with no loss of quality. Note • This unit is designed for connection with HDMIcompatible devices. Do not connect DVI devices. This unit may not operate properly if a DVI device is connected.
03 2 Attach the HDMI retaining cover to the HDMI cable. Mount the HDMI retaining cover so that it retains the connector securely. • Depending on the HDMI cable’s connector size, the gap and positional relationship between the HDMI retaining cover and HDMI holder may differ. 3 Tighten the HDMI retaining cover’s screw into the HDMI screw hole to fasten the HDMI cable to this unit. Caution • Do not tighten the screw with excessive force. Doing so could damage the connector or cable.
Note • Only video signals with NTSC or PAL resolutions are output from the VIDEO OUT terminal. Set the output using the TV SYSTEM (NTSC, PAL) switch on this unit’s rear panel (page 26). • When EDID is set to On and HDMI connections are used, the HDMI output’s resolution setting has priority, so the output resolution of the signals output from the COMPONENT VIDEO OUT terminals may change automatically (page 46). 03 Use this to connect this unit to a hub connected to a network, etc.
03 Connecting USB storage devices Connecting the power cord Connect the power cord after all the connections between the devices have been completed. Chapter 5 05 Basic Operation Loading the SD memory card Locked Caution • If the SD memory card is inserted or removed while this unit’s power is still on, it may not play properly. Playback starts from the first file in alphabetical order. • If the picture or sound is not output properly, see Troubleshooting (page 77). • Some time may be required until the picture is displayed if there are many files. We recommend deleting any unnecessary files beforehand. • This unit’s playback functions are shown on the table below.
Playing in slow motion To cancel Repeat Play • Press the REPEAT button and select Repeat Off. 1 In the pause or still picture play mode, press and hold in the or button. • The speed switches each time the button is pressed. 05 Measuring the SD memory card’s transfer speed The speed at which data on the SD memory card is read into this unit can be measured. Caution • This SD memory card transfer speed is only a rough measurement, and does not guarantee a playback bit rate. • To achieve stable playback operation, use SD memory cards with a sufficiently high transfer speed with respect to the playback bit rate. 1 Switch to the transfer speed measurement mode.

06 Advanced setting menu (ADV. Setting Menu) Loading and saving settings (Load/Save) Settings can be loaded from a USB storage device or SD memory card. Settings can also be stored on a USB storage device. This function is convenient when you want to use multiple units of this unit with the same settings. Power On Start setting 06 This sets the operation after this unit is switched from the status in which no power is being supplied to the status in which power is supplied as well as the operation when this unit’s power is turned on. 07 Chapter 7 Playlists Playlists can also be created and edited using the HD PILOT computer application. For details on HD PILOT, see the Pioneer website. Time map table files of the video files you want to play must be created in advance using HD PILOT in order to create playlists. 3 Select the files you want to play. Use / to select, then press ENTER. The specified file is registered in the playlist. Repeat this procedure to register more files.

07 Creating a new playlist Note • Up to 20 playlists can be registered. 1 Display the Setup menu. Press SETUP. • Up to 12 video files can be registered per playlist. 2 Select Playlist Create/Edit Select. Use /// to select, then press ENTER. The basic playlist creation screen appears. • If not a single line is registered, press the button to proceed to step 4. 3 Add a playlist. Press ENTER. The command selection screen appears. Use / to select Create List, then press ENTER.
Deleting playlists 1 Select the playlist. Use / to select, then press ENTER. 2 Select Delete List. Use / to select, then press ENTER. Bitmap files created on the computer can be superimposed over video images. • Create a picture folder in the SD memory card’s root directory and store the bitmap files in it in advance. Connect the SD memory card to this unit before registering the bitmap files in playlists. • The video file must be registered in the playlist in advance.
07 About the maximum number of characters The number of characters displayed differs when scrolling and when not scrolling. The number of European characters (1-byte code) is calculated based on the width of the letter “W”. This number includes spaces. 10 En cas de panne Une erreur de commande est souvent prise pour une anomalie de fonctionnement ou une panne.
