3. Change the Boot Device back to MCPU Flash ROM

Using the reboot or booted command, change the boot device back

to fi for Flash.

Using the p command, verify that the boot parameters are set to the fol-

lowing:

processor number: 0

host name: PC

file name: SMS

inet on ethernet (e): 192.0.2.2:ffffff00

[192.0.2.3:ffffff00]

inet on backplane (b):[blank]

RESET

button on MCPU. The system now boots from ﬂash with

the NEW MCPU APPLICATION. The console eventually displays the

SMS7000> diagnostic interface prompt.

4. Load the Coprocessor and Panel Executable Files into the MCPU(s)

ﬂash memory.

Note It will save much aggravation if you take care not to run out of

ﬂash memory. Check for available space (using the dir com-

mand at the diagnostic terminal) before and after loading soft-

ware into the router. If it reports 0 bytes of available memory, you

will need to perform the

Flash Memory Limitations and Recov-

ery Procedure

on page 34 (reformatting ﬂash memory) to re-

claim use of all sectors of ﬂash memory:

When loading these ﬁles, you must select either option 1 or option 2 in-

dicated by a 1 or 2 at the end of the command line.

For example:
