Press【REC】short key to enter into manual record menu. Press【PTZ】short key to enter into PTZ control interface. Press MENU Note: You must input user name and password. Before switching DVR on, please connect one monitor to VOUT or VGA interface, otherwise you can not see graphic user interface and can not operate the DVR. If 【POWER】light is off, please do the following: Step1: Re-connect power cable; Step2: Switch on the power button on the rear panel.

The administrator’s name can not be modified, while the password can be modified. The administrator can create 15 users and define their user rights. For example; press 【2】key to select the PTZ camera on channel 2. After you select the PTZ camera, you can use the control keys to control it.

When PTZ is in auto mode, if you exit PTZ control mode, PTZ will continue auto function unless you enter into PTZ control mode again, and press 【PLAY/AUTO】key to stop. QH32DVR4C User’s Manual Description Manual record interface has the following parts: channel number, channel status, start/stop record, start all and stop all buttons. Channel: Lists the channel numbers that the DVR has. Status: Channel work status has 4 status options: means idle. Green means the channel is recording (including real time recording, alarm recording, motion detection recording). Red means network transmission. Orange means both recording and network transmission.
QH32DVR4C User’s Manual Description Select a Channel: Move the “Active Frame” to “chan”, press “edit” button, then use 【↑】or【↓】key to select a channel. 【↑】or【↓】to select recorded file type. The file type options are Rec Type: Use “All”, “All Time”, “Motion Detect”, “Alarm” and “Manual”. Time Section: You can define the search time section. Move “Active Frame” to the time edit box, use numeric keys to input the detail time. Search: Search the matched recorded files and display them in the list box.
QH32DVR4C User’s Manual At the bottom of the image, there is an information bar and the following information is included: Volume, Play Progress, Play Speed, Played Time and File Total Time. 【MENU】 Open/Close sound: 【PLAY】 Adjust play progress: 【←】(Backward),【→】(Forward). The unit is “%”. Adjust play speed: Normal speed is “1x”. Use 【↑】to increase play speed ( 2X, 4X, 8X and MAX). Use【↓】to decrease play speed (1/2X, 1/4X, 1/8X and single) Pause/Continue: Press【ENTER】to pause/continue playback.

In the playback interface, you can backup the recorded files. 【 】 In the preview mode, press PLAY key, in the login dialog box, select username and input the correct password, you will enter into the playback interface. 【 】 In the menu mode, just press PLAY key, you can enter into playback interface directly.

Step 4: Start and finish backup 【 】 Move “Active Frame” to “Save” button and press ENTER key to start backup. When backup starts, corresponding message box will pop-up to indicate the result. Backup video segment You also can backup the image segments when the image is being played back.

Exit playback interface Please refer to Chapter 4.6. 4.8 Shutting Down the DVR Note: Do not switch off the power directly by turning off the power switch or unplugging the cable, this can damage the HDD.
QH32DVR4C User’s Manual Chapter 5: Parameters Setup Guide Only the users that have “Parameters Setup” right need to read this chapter. When the following parameters are modified and saved, you must reboot the DVR to make the new parameters effective. Other parameters do not require a reboot.

Press numeric keys to input a new password. The password is made up of 【 】 16 numbers at most. After you finish inputting password, press ENTER key to exit. Move “Active Frame” to “Verify password” edit box, input the new password.

You can skip this step if you do not want to setup a password.

You must setup rights for him. 【 】【 】keys to select the new user name, then use【 】key to “Default Privileges” button, press【ENTER】, the In the user’s list box of “User Management” menu, use user will have default rights. The default rights include local playback, remote playback and view log.

PTZ control: Locally control PTZ cameras; Record: Manual start/stop recording; Set parameters Setup: Locally setup the DVR parameters; Log: Locally view the log on DVR; Utilities: Locally upgrade firmware, format the HDD, reboot the DVR and shut down DVR, etc.
QH32DVR4C User’s Manual Fig 5.7 Delete user 5.3 Unit Name and Device ID Unit Name In the “Display” menu, shown as fig 5.8: Fig 5.8 Display menu There is an item called “Unit Name”. The default unit name is “Embedded Net DVR”. Move “Active Frame” to unit name edit box, press 【EDIT】key to enter into edit status, you can modify the unit name. For instructions on how to input characters, 【ENTER】key to finish modification.
QH32DVR4C User’s Manual Device ID: When you use the remote control to operate the DVR, you must use the device ID to select the DVR. The default device ID is “88”. If there is more than one DVR in one place, please setup different device IDs for each DVR, otherwise the remote control will control all the DVRs with the same device ID at the same time. In “Display” menu, move “Active Frame” to the device ID edit box, in the edit status, you can use numeric keys to input a new device ID.
QH32DVR4C User’s Manual 5.5 Camera name and OSD (On Screen Display) Setup Camera Name In “Camera” menu, you can input a name for each camera. See fig 5.9 Please note that a camera’s name can not be copied. Fig 5.9 Input camera number The steps to setup camera name: Step 1: Select a camera. 【 】 Step 2: Move “Active Frame” to camera name edit box, press EDIT key to enter into edit status, you can input digital number, uppercase and lowercase characters (refer to Chapter 3.4).

Step 3: Enable the check box on the right side of camera name, then move 【ENTER】to enter into camera name position setup interface, as shown below, in that interface you can use【 】 【 】【 】 【 】 keys to move camera name position. When the position is fixed, press 【ENTER】and return to “Camera” menu, and press “Confirm” button to save it.
QH32DVR4C User’s Manual Date OSD Position In “Camera” menu you can adjust the position where you want the Date to display, move active frame to “Position” on the right side of “Date OSD” and press 【 the ENTER 】 button. Step 3: Adjust brightness, contrast, saturation and hue: Move “Active Frame” to the “Adjust” button on the right side of Brightness, Contrast, Saturation and Hue, 【ENTER】key, you will enter into the corresponding adjust interface. In the adjust interface, there is one scroll bar at the bottom, you can use【 】【 】keys to press adjust and can find the video image will be changed at the same time.
QH32DVR4C User’s Manual 5.7 Mask Area Setup In some cases you might want to mask a sensitive area. This area will not be viewed or recorded. The mask area setup steps are as follows: Step 1: Enter into “Camera” menu: Step 2: Select a camera: You can use 【 】【 】keys to select the camera. Step 3:Enter into “Advanced settings” enable the check box beside “Privacy Mask”, you can press the 【Enter】or【edit】 key to change the flag into “ ”, and activate “Area” button.
QH32DVR4C User’s Manual After you finish setup, press 【ENTER】key to return to “Advanced settings” 【】 menu. You can press A key to clear all mask areas. Step 5: Save mask area: You can repeat step 2, step 3 and step 4 to setup mask area for other cameras. In “Advanced setting” menu, press the “Confirm” button to save the mask area, press “Cancel” button to abort. Here is an example of the mask area function shown as fig 5.14: Fig 5.14 Area masked Disabling the mask check box cancels the mask area.
QH32DVR4C User’s Manual 5.8 View Tampering Alarm If you enable this function, when someone blocks the camera spitefully, the DVR will send a warning alarm. Step 1: Enter into “Camera” menu: 【 】【 】keys to select a camera. Step 2: Select camera: Please use Step 3: Select sensitivity: move active frame to sensitivity item right beside the “View tampering” item. Press 【edit】key, then you can use【↑】【↓】keys to select the sensitivity for “View Tampering”. The sensitivity options are: Low, Normal and High.
QH32DVR4C User’s Manual Step 6: Alarm schedule setup: When a view tampering alarm occurs, the DVR will handle the alarm based on the schedule. You can set 4 periods for each day of the week. You can also copy the schedule of any one day to other days. Note: Time periods can not be repeated. Please reboot DVR to make the parameters effective. Step 7: Setup alarm policy: If a view tampering alarm occurs in a schedule, the DVR will respond based on the policy.

The DVR will only respond when the video loss occurs during the schedule. Note: The 4 time periods can not be repeated. Please reboot the DVR to make parameters effective. Step 5: Setup alarm policy: You can select one or more response options, including “On Screen Warning”, “Audible Warning”, “Upload to Center” and “Trigger Alarm Output”.
QH32DVR4C User’s Manual 5.10 Motion Detection If you enable this function, when there is motion detected by a camera, the DVR will send an alarm. Step 1: Enter into “Camera” menu: 【 】【 】key to select a camera after pressing【edit】key. Step 2: Select camera: Use Step 3: Select motion detection sensitivity: On the right side of “Motion Det. Level”, there is a list box for motion detection sensitivity. There are 7 options, from 0 (the lowest) to 5 (the 【↑】【↓】keys to select one.
QH32DVR4C User’s Manual The whole screen is divided into 22*18 panels (NTSC: 22*15). There is one yellow panel on the upper left side. The motion area setup steps are the same as that of mask area setup (refer to 【 】 motion sensitive, and multiple motion areas can be setup. Press【A】key to clear all motion areas. Setup multiple areas: After you setup one motion area, press the【EDIT】key, the yellow Chapter 5.7).

In “Motion Alarm Handle” menu, you can select one or more recording channels. Please use 【ENTER】or【EDIT】key to change the flag into “ ”enabled. Note: In order to make the cameras start recording, in “Recording” menu you must enable recording schedule and set “Rec Type” as “Motion Detection” or “Motion | Alarm”.
QH32DVR4C User’s Manual Step 9: Save motion alarm setup: Press “Confirm” button to return to “Image Setup” menu. In the “Image Setup” menu, press “Confirm” button to save the current camera parameters. Step 10: Save all cameras: You can repeat step 2 to step 8 to setup motion detection parameters for other cameras. You can also copy the parameters of one camera to any other cameras. Note: Motion alarm area can not be copied.
QH32DVR4C User’s Manual Step 2: Preview properties: 【↑】【↓】key to select one mode. If DVR Preview mode: For preview mode item, you can use has only 1 channel, you can select only “1 Screen” option. If DVR has 4 channels, there are “1 Screen” and “4 Screen” options. If DVR has more than 4 but less than 9 channels, there are “1 Screen”, “4 Screen” and “9 Screen” options. If DVR has 16 channels, there are “1 Screen”, “4 Screen”, “9 Screen”, “12 Screen” and “16 Screen” options.
QH32DVR4C User’s Manual 5.12 Recording Setup In the main menu, there is an icon called “Recording”. You can enter into recording menu as follows: Fig 5.20 Recording channel configuration “Recording” menu description: If HDD is Full: There are two options: “Overwrite” and “Stop recording”. If you select the “Overwrite” option, when the HDD in the DVR is full, the DVR will overwrite the earliest recorded files and continue recording.
QH32DVR4C User’s Manual Bit Rate Type: The DVR will use the fixed bit rate to compress image. The bit rate size is defined in “Bit Rate” option. With this option we can calculate the recorded file size and network bandwidth that we need. The maximum bit rate selection is related to resolution. If you select high resolution, you must select high bit rate. For CIF resolution, the typical maximum bit rate is 384K-768Kbps.
QH32DVR4C User’s Manual Step 3: Record type For “Rec Type”, the options are: All Time, Motion Detect, Alarm, Motion|Alarm, and Motion&Alarm, command. For all day record mode, only one record type can be selected. Step 4: Copy to other days You can repeat step 2 and step 3 to setup for other days. You can also copy the current day to other days. Step 5: Save Press “Confirm” to return to “Recording” menu. Press “Confirm” again to save the parameters and return to the main menu.
QH32DVR4C User’s Manual 5.13 External Alarm Input and Relay Output For QSC26404 there are 4 alarm in and 1 relay out ports. In “Alarms” menu, you can setup each external alarm input. 【 】key to enter In main menu, move the “Active Frame” to “Alarms” icon and press ENTER into alarms menu as shown in fig 5.22 5.22 Alarms setup External alarm input setup: Step 1: Select one alarm input Use 【↑】【↓】keys to select one alarm input. Step 2: Alarm type This is the sensor type.

In the sub menu, you can use 【ENTER】or【EDIT】key to enable record channel. “×” means disabled and “ means enabled. Note: In order to trigger the channel to record, in “Recording” menu, you must enable recording and select record type as “Alarm” or other related type. Please refer to Chapter 5.12.

QH32DVR4C User’s Manual Alarm relay output setup Step 1: In “Alarms” menu, use 【↑】【↓】keys to select one alarm output. Step 2: Select delay time The delay time is when the alarm ends, the alarm output will continue output time. The delay time options are: 5 Seconds, 10 Seconds, 30 Seconds, 1 Minute, 2 Minutes, 5 Minutes, 10 Minutes and Manual Stop. If you select the “Manual’ option, the alarm output will not stop until you press the “Clear Alarm” button in the “Utilities” menu.
QH32DVR4C User’s Manual Exceptions The exceptions that can currently be handled include: hard disk full, hard disk error, illegal access, IP address conflict, network failure, and NTSC/PAL difference. Enter into the “Exceptions” menu as shown in fig 5.26 Fig 5.26 Exceptions setup Includes the following handle methods: Audible Warning: the DVR will beep. Upload to Center: Send exception information to center host PC. Trigger Alarm Output: trigger local relay output.
QH32DVR4C User’s Manual 5.14 Network Parameters If you want to access the DVR over a network you must setup network parameters. Note: If any network parameter is modified, you must save and reboot the DVR to make it effective. 【 】 In main menu, move the “Active Frame” to the “Network” icon and press ENTER , you will enter into “Network” menu as shown in fig 5.27 Fig 5.27 network setup “Network” menu description: IP address: This IP address must not be conflict with another IP address on the router.
QH32DVR4C User’s Manual Remote Host IP and Port: If you set this IP and port, when there is an alarm and exception happens, the DVR will send information to that host IP. Move the “Active Frame” to “Setup” button on the right side of “Preset”, press ENTER key to enter into preset setup menu. You can save 128 preset numbers.

In PTZ control interface, you can use 【 】【IRIS-】【FOCUS+】【FOCUS-】【ZOOM+】 【ZOOM-】keys to adjust iris, focus and zoom. After you finish adjusting, press【ENTER】, then direction keys to adjust PTZ position, and use IRIS+ press the “Save” button to save the preset number. Each sequence is made up of cruise points, and each cruise point includes a preset number, dwell time and dwell speed. Dwell time is the time staying at that preset number. Dwell speed is the speed that the PTZ camera is moved to that preset number. Press “Add” button to add one cruise point. Press “Confirm” button to save the cruise point into the sequence.

There are two cases where you need to upgrade DVR firmware. One is to update old firmware, the other is when the code in DVR FLASH has crashed. Note: Make sure you are using the correct firmware for your DVR model before you upgrade. 7.1 FTP Server Setup You can download FTP server software through internet. Here we use wftpd32.
