SEARCH
Select recorded videos to play back, back up, or lock for later using the Search function. You can reach
the Search and Playback window can be reached through either the Navigation Bar (left) or Shortcut
Menu (right).
STEP 1. The calendar in the upper right of
the Video Search window will show dates
containing recorded video in blue.
STEP 2. Color-coded blocks indicating recorded
video will appear in the Video Indicator and
Progress bar.

STEP 5. Once you have refined your search, click
on the Search (Picture 3-6) button to refresh
your results.

STEP 3. Click on a recording block to begin playing back from that time, or you can click on the Start
button to commence playback from the first video recorded that day.
STEP 4. If needed, you can further refine the
search to specific channels by choosing a
single- or multiple-channel display format and
then selecting the desired channel(s) to view
simultaneously using the pull down menu.
You can also check or uncheck the colored
boxes below the Video Indicator and
Progress bar to choose which types of record
(Motion Detection, Alarm, etc.) you’re interested
in.
STEP 6. The NVR will produce a list of recorded
events. The list will show start time and type of
recording.
M = Motion
A = Alarm
R = Regular
•Aboxatthebottomofthelistwillshowthestart
time, end time and file size of a selected video.
STEP 7. Double-click on a file to begin playback.
You can double click on another file in the list to
switch to that video.
•Clickthe button (on the right of Picture
3-9) to begin a new search.
Locking Files
Important video files can be “locked” or protected
against being overwritten on the hard drive as it
fills up.
1. Select the file from the search list
2. Click the Lock button (on the left of Picture
3-9).
•ClicktheLock Search button (cente of Picture
3-9) to search for locked files only.
IMPORTANT! Critical video files should always be backed up and
stored in a safe location away from the NVR as soon as possible!
