2 important information CONDARI PTY LTD makes over 120 different models of QASAIR Rangehoods plus many specials designed by architects and interior designers. It is important to follow the installation instructions for different models. The following is general advice for the installation of QASAIR Rangehoods and is meant as a guide. Firstly, there are many different cooking appliances on the market today and we list some here.

QASAIR Rangehoods must be ducted in duct work equivalent to the outlet of the rangehood ie: The cross sectional area of the rangehood outlet and the duct work must be equal. Do not reduce the duct size or have sharp bends. Enlarge the duct size if the duct is to run 6 metres or longer. Advice from QASAIR is available to ensure optimum performance. Always use nonflammable materials to minimise the risk of fire in the duct at a later date.

5 Installation instructions Fold Away model (FA) 1. 2. 3. The rangehood can now be installed by inserting screws in the three holes provided on each side or to the top or back by drilling your own mounting holes as required. When installed, cover the access holes to the side fixing screws with the plastic plugs supplied. Fit filters. Duct direction for MT model only To change the duct direction, proceed as follows: 1. QASAIR Installation Instructions Remove canopy and flue from boxes and check you have correct model and flue. Locate centre point of stove. Use level or plumb line to mark centre up to ceiling. Mark level line for base of canopy 700-800mm above bench 750mm desirable. Check roof space above for wires and obstructions as now is the time to decide on any changes to location due to immovable obstructions.

It is necessary to measure the height to the ceiling on each side of the motor box so we get the exact measurement to make the shroud. We will leave a 2mm gap to allow for any variation in the ceiling or hood installation.

35 Special Rangehoods are hoods made to specific designs and not covered by the instructions in this booklet for standard hoods, although the basic rules will still apply. Generally, special rangehoods are either wall or ceiling mounted and therefore are installed in the same manner as the rangehoods in the previous pages. INSTRUCTIONS for models Special Rangehoods Standard ducting will apply unless special ducting is supplied with the hood.
36 LAMP replacement and FILTER care QASAIR rangehoods are fitted with low voltage halogen lights which give a very clear, bright light. These become very hot if left on for a long period and can burn out. Please switch off after use. 1. 2 3. 4. 5. Turn off power at power point. Turn retaining ring anticlockwise and pull down. Tilt lamp up slightly at retaining spring opening position and slide lamp out sideways. Unplug lamp from the ceramic connector and replace lamp.

We recommend that QASAIR rangehoods are ducted to the outside atmosphere by these duct pieces.
