The following options are available in the PS Protocol menu.

Choices Normal—Enables standard, ASCII hex protocol. Data
is sent and received in ASCII format. This mode is
recommended if you do not print binary data. It
was designed for data in the printable ASCII
range. Print jobs can alter the PS protocol value
through PostScript operators.)

Notes A data stream sent through the serial or parallel interface using Binary is
treated the same as a data stream sent through an optional network
interface using Quoted Binary. However, a data stream sent through an
optional network interface using Quoted Binary is not treated the same as
a data stream sent through the same interface using Binary.
