1) DownloadthelatestNMP‐1000PfirmwarefromQNAPofficialwebsite
http://www.qnap.com/.
2) ConnectthedevicetothePCbyexternaldiskmodeusingeSATAorUSBinterface;
seeSection4.2.1formoreinformation.
3) ThePCwillrecognizethedeviceasanexternalstoragedevice.Openthedevice
storagewithanykindoffilebrowser.
4) Createafoldernamed“qnapfw”(quotesnotrequired)intherootdirectoryofthe
devicewhereallothersharefoldersreside.
5) PlacethelatestNMP‐1000Pfirmwareinthe“qnapfw”folder.
6) SafelyremoveanddisconnectthedevicefromthePC.
7) MakesureyouhavethepowersupplyconnectedtoNMP‐1000Pandthedeviceis
poweredoff.
8) Onthefrontpanelofthedevice,pressandholdthe“Option”buttonandpressthe
“Power”button,thenreleasebothbuttonsatonce.

9) YouwillseethefirmwarefilenamescrollingontheVFDdisplay.Pressthe“OK”
buttononthefrontpaneltoconfirmrecoverymodeupgradeprocedure.
10) Therecoveryprocesswillstartandthedevicewillautomaticallyrebootupon
completion.

