Setting Trafc Limit Notications
Set up trafc limit notications if you would like to be notied when a certain trafc limit is
reached. You can specify a maximum of three daily and three monthly limits, and the trafc
amount can cover megabytes, kilobytes, or a percentage from the daily/monthly inclusive.
Once your trafc reaches one of these limits, a notication window will appear saying that
the limit has been reached.
1. Select the Start menu > Programs > GPRS Monitor.
2. Select Options... from the Tools menu.
3. Enable warnings on the Day warn and Month warn tabs. You can specify up to three daily
and three monthly warnings.
Using the GPRS Monitor Application
The GPRS Monitor application gives you the ability to see the reports on your network
connection usage. You can see both trafc and costs charts and reports, as well as export
the reports to CSV les that can be opened with Excel, Access, and similar spreadsheet
and database software.
The Taskbar Icon
The most important information is shown in the GPRS Monitor taskbar icon. The icon shows
the following information by default:
n GPRS connection speed: The full bar responds to 19K bits per second.
n GPRS data block usage: The full bar corresponds to 100%; each item 20%.
n Battery status: Each bar corresponds to 20% of the total charge.
Controlling the Taskbar icon's position
1. Select Start > Programs > GPRS Monitor.
2. Select Options... on the Tools menu.
3. Select the Icon tab, and check the Show taskbar icon box.
4. Specify the icon’s position on the taskbar by adjusting the slider.
Today Plug-In
When you turn on your Pocket PC Phone for the rst time each day (or after 4 hours of
inactivity), you will see the Today screen, displaying all important information at a glance.
By default, GPRS Monitor puts a box there that displays the information about today's data
connection usage, and lets you manage the power settings of your Pocket PC Phone. This
is called the Today plug-in.
NOTE: The Today screen Time-Out can be changed from 4 hours to anywhere between
1 and 12 hours, in the Items tab (see next page).
