The QSUB includes an internal passive crossover allowing for
direct connection to a full range amplifier. The crossover filters
signals sent to the subwoofer to below 150Hz, ensuring maximum
impact with minimal distortion. The crossover also offers high pass
filtered outputs that may be connected directly to low-impedance
full range speakers. This permits the creation of very cost-effective
subwoofer satellite systems.
Wiring connections are made via two terminal strips located on
the rear of the cabinet. Terminals are provided for the connection
of two amplifiers channels (L / R) for stereo operation. In addi-
tion, two high-pass outputs are provided to feed satellite speakers.
A detachable front grille conceals the driver and is secured with
screws on either side of the enclosure.
INSTALLATION
There are several different installation options available for the
QSUB subwoofer. Please review all of the installation options to
determine the one best suited to the site conditions and perfor-
mance objectives.
Step 1
Identify the location where the speaker will be installed and de-
termine if the wall or ceiling has the structural integrity to support
the speaker. If unsure, consult with a qualified rigger or structural
engineer before installation.
Step 2
Install the bracket to wall using suitable fasteners. The accompany-
ing illustration (right) shows the bracket mounted vertically in a
corner between two walls. This is the preferred mounting method
for the QSUB. Alternately the bracket may be turned on its side
and mounted in the corner between the ceiling and the wall. It is
not recommended to use this bracket when it is connected to only
one surface.
(Another installation option is to suspend the QSUB in free space
by rigging to the threaded mounting points. There are 12 threaded
mounting points in total, with three each on the top and bottom of
the enclosure, two on either side and two on the rear. Rigging must
only be undertaken by certified professionals using proper materi-
als and techniques. All installations must use a minimum of three
points when the speaker is rigged.)
