Itisagoodideatoplanyourinstallationonpaper,usingexact
measurementsfor clearances and oor protection, before
actuallybeginningtheinstallation.Ifyouarenotusingan
existingchimney,placetheappliancewheretherewillbea
clearpassageforafactory-builtlistedchimneythroughthe
ceilingandroof.
Werecommendthataqualiedbuildinginspectorandyour
insurancecompanyrepresentativereviewyourplansbefore
andafterinstallation
Ifthisapplianceisinanareawherechildrenmaybenearit
isrecommendedthatyoupurchaseadecorativebarriertogo
infrontoftheappliance.
Remembertoalwayskeepchildren
away while it is operating and do not let anyone operate
thisapplianceunlesstheyarefamiliarwiththeseoperating
instructions.
B. Fire Safety
To provide reasonable re safety, the following should be
givenseriousconsideration:
1. Install at least one smoke detector on each oor of
your home to ensure your safety. They should be
located away from the heating appliance and close
to the sleeping areas. Follow the smoke detector
manufacturer’splacementandinstallationinstructions,
andbesuretomaintainregularly.
2. A conveniently located Class A fire extinguisher
to contend with small fires resulting from burning
embers.
3. Apracticedevacuationplan,consistingofatleasttwo
escaperoutes.

CAUTION
NOTE: Service Space
In order to replace the tube channel a clearance of 17
inches (432mm) is required on the right side of stove in
ordertoremovethetubeswiththestoveinplace.
Ifspaceisnotavailable,thestovewillhavetobediscon-
nectedfromthechimneytoproceedwiththetubereplace-
ment.See page 32.
